People have a literary style in the same way that they have distinctive handwriting or fingerprints.
I would think that forensic experts would be able to identify the author.

You can't tell much from two sentences, but I'm not with those who think this is beyond the realm of possibility.
IMO the sentences do have a common ring to them, but that isn't worth squat. Data that are worth a look (calculated by Word, not me):
Number of Words
Ayers Sentence: 27
Obama Sentence: 28
Reading Ease (score)
Ayers Sentence: 54
Obama Sentence: 54.5
Reading Level
Ayers Sentence: 12
Obama Sentence: 12
Coincidence? Damned if I know but I sure would like to see more.

Obama does not know the difference between “formerly” and “formally,” since he chose the wrong one when offering legislation to commemorate an Islamic center.
Coming from a former editor of the Harvard Law Review, this error is astounding for what is says about both Obama and Harvard.

Maybe he recommended the ghost writer to his buddy Ayers.
To: attiladhun2
I would think it would be easier to prove he did write something than that he did not, considering his background. He spent his childhood outside the country in Indonesia, where he would have absorbed the local language (Bahasa Indonesia ) and Arabic. Each language and culture has its own idioms and grammer. When learning a new language, or using a language other than your first, it is a common mistake to translate too literally the idioms of one language into another. If his writings were his own, we would expect to see some of his Indonesean upbringing in his grammer and idioms used in the book.
I don't think this is going to go anywhere though. It would be hard enough to prove that Ayers himself wrote the book. If the text is similar, it would be far more likely that they used the same ghostwriter.

This would explain why no substantially unedited written works by Obama have been revealed. What any such work may have been about is far less important than the style with which it is written. As a retired lawyer who's written and read many documents in my career, I can say from personal experience that every individual develops a distinctive style and way of expressing himself or herself, a style almost as distinctive as that person's DNA or fingerprints. Indeed, the distinctive writing style of the Unabomber is what got him caught. If one were to obtain any long, substantially unedited (except by himself, leaving out the one highly edited law review note he allegedly wrote), it would be possible to determine Obama's style and compare it to the style of the two books, giving a very good idea of whether he wrote those books or not.

THIS is scary! I hope there is some substantial evidence to prove this. It is eerie how much those 2 passages sound alike....and this could definitely be the smoking gun, October Surprise..

This whole notion that Emperor Zero didn’t write his own book has been intriguing me since I first heard it suggested a few weeks ago. The theory has the “ring of truth” to it, because he’s been such a persistent underachiever (or non-achiever), while the book is said to be quite well-written.

While we’re feeding books into the comparison algorithm, it would also be useful to verify that the same person wrote “Dreams of My Father” and “The Audacity of Hope.”

Here is Cashill's
second article on the possible Obama/Ayers co-authorship. It provides little in the way of hard evidence, which is disappointing.

OMG - - Ayers is an American nightmare. If Obama's lying about who wrote the book - and it's Ayers - Obama's finished.
What would the MSM say if Timothy McVeigh had written Sarah's biography?

Probably. Some astute journalist should ask Obama if Ayers participated in any fashion in either of his books. That's all, he just needs to answer the question.
