With Wall Street convulsing, and the White House race intensifying, the question "Who lost Europe" is on no one's lips, let alone minds. Indeed, the question begs another: "Is Europe lost?"

The answer to the second question is, "No, not yet." And losing Europe, I would add, is by no means inevitable. But that doesn't mean the continent isn't currently hell-bent to accommodate the dictates of Islamic law, bit by increasingly larger bit. Such a course of accommodation, barring reversal, will only hasten Bernard Lewis' famous prediction that Europe will be Islamic by century's end.

And what do I mean by "accommodation"? Well, to take one tiny example, one snowflake in a blizzard of such examples, there are schools in Belgium that not only serve halal food to Muslim and non-Muslim alike (old news), but, according to a recent French magazine report, no longer teach authors deemed offensive to Muslims, including Voltaire and Diderot; the same is increasingly true of Darwin. (Don't even ask about the Holocaust.)

For a more substantial, indeed, keystone example of accommodation, we can look to England, where, it pains me to write, Sharia courts are now officially part of the British legal system. According to press reports this week, the British government has quietly, cravenly elevated five Sharia courts to the level of tribunal hearings, thus making their rulings legally binding.

Europeans that have lost the will to survive. We are watching the end result of desconstructist post modernism. Moral relativism has rendered them incapable of discernment and complacent.

It would seem that the sun has almost set on the British empire. Hard to believe that islam could defeat them when Hitler couldn't, but then it's always darkest before the dawn. You may be right, but I hope you're wrong. I believe that Hitler and his nazis and islam are two sides of the same coin. And I believe that saving Britain, should it come to that, is but one battle in a much larger war. Sometimes you fight because it simply is the right thing to do, even in the face of potential failure. We don't give up our country to the liberals and neither should the Brits. With all of us, the evil is now within.

Diana West is really a very good feature writer. And while some of the statistics she references in this article are chilling, I tend to agree with most posters.

Europe is a big kid. If they want to hang out with criminals, let 'em. It's not like they're begging us to interfere.

Not so hard really. Frontal assaults often don’t work well (both Hitler and Islam found this out in the past). If you’ve got the time, the best way to conquer someone is bit by tiny bit. Of course, in order for this to happen, the conquered often has to disarm themselves, physically, spiritually, and intellectually. The British (indeed all the Europeans) have disarmed themselves in this manner. Once you no longer believe in anything, its inevitable.
