New Jersey Senate: Lautenberg Hangs on to Lead
Rasmussen Reports ^ | September 19, 2008

Posted on 09/19/2008 2:54:20 PM PDT by Clintonfatigued

Democratic Senator Frank Lautenberg leads Republican challenger Dick Zimmer by seven percentage points in New Jersey’s U.S. Senate race. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in the Garden State finds Lautenberg on top 49% to 42%.

That’s closer than the race was last month, but Lauternberg continues to hover right around the 50% level of support. Incumbents who poll below 50% are generally considered potentially vulnerable, and the New Jersey senator is the only Democrat in that category at the moment.

This race now looks to be the GOP’s best chance of unseating a Democrat Senator.

He will be reelected. In New Jersey, there are enough liberals in the electorate to send The Cadaver back to the Senate. The same folks who will give the state to Obama.

What does it take to defeat Lautenberg? Should the Republicans run King Tut against Lautenberg because Tut is mummified even better? Would that do the trick?

I have friends who live in New Jersey. Other than the politics, it is a fine place. Historical sites, good employment, good environment, and the crumbiest politicians who ever just barely avoided going to jail. Curious.

Lautenberg is nasty garbage, hated by his colleagues, worthless, and they elect and reelect him.

Ok, so why do the citizens of New Jersey love the UnAmerican Democrat Party so much?

What is the appeal?

This ain’t pretty on the Senate side. We get an “F” for recruitment. “F” as in f**k-up:

Not to mention all the cadavers that will be voting to send one of their own back to the senate.

The Zimmer campaign has been invisible, and Lautenberg is still below 50%. This is a huge lost opportunity.

John Ensign is running the NRSC. Maybe he’ll make a play, espeically with Republicans having few opportunities this year.

It's a lost opportunity? Funny. You live in NJ, and the opportunity's right in front of you. But you're apparently looking for an excuse not to put forth any effort.

Can Zimmer Steal Lautenberg's Senate Seat for the GOP?

What kind of state votes for a Lautenberg? Answer: a state with the lowest collective intelligence in the country!

Gee whiz, he was in office back when I was in college in Jersey. I didn’t even realize that Lautenberg was still alive?
