Sources: Intense Pressure Led To Palin UN Snub CBS 2 HD Has Learned Democrats Threatened To Attack Jewish Groups' Tax Exempt Status Over VP Nominee Invite

Reporting Marcia Kramer NEW YORK (CBS) ― Hillary Clinton won't be speaking at Monday's anti-Iran rally at the United Nations -- and neither will Republican Sarah Palin or any other politicians for that matter.

The reason? A heated behind the scenes tug-of-war.

Sources tell CBS 2 HD that a decision to disinvite Palin from the high profile rally after Clinton pulled out in a huff came as the result of intense pressure from Democrats.

"This is insulting. This is embarrassing, especially to Gov. Palin, to me and I think it should be to every single New Yorker," Assemblyman Dov Hikind, D-Brooklyn, told CBS 2 HD.

Sources say the axes were out for Palin as soon as Sen. Clinton pulled out because she did not want to attend the same event as the Republican vice presidential candidate.

"I have never seen such raw emotion -- on both sides," said someone close to the situation.

Now did I read that correctly? A Democrat actually sort-of defended Gov Palin? and actually referred to her as Governor?

Hoping some Jewish voters are getting the true picture of the Democrats they so unswervingly support.

Apparently this strong arming tactic really ticked a lot of Jewish organizations off in NY. There could be an backlash in NY against the dems.

From the article: "It's an absolute shame that this has happened," Hikind said. "To threaten organizations … to threaten the Conference of Presidents that if you don't withdraw the invitation to Gov. Palin we're going to look into your tax exempt status … that's McCarthyism."

No, that's Clintonism.

How can it be defended? The cause was supposed to be Israel’s survival and Iran’s evil government. Liberals/democrats care so little for real causes they let this BS totally undermine their event.

Israel will not survive if liberal democrats rule here. Israel has no better friends than conservative republicans. So great work offending Israel’s supporters to toady to dopes like Obamam who view Israel’s enemies as friends.

The news on the local radio station said that the conference was being run by the Quakers and the Mennonites and that they were responsible.

I’m not kidding. I think it was ABC news.

By the way, the above group, the NJDC, is NOT a tax-exempt org.

So jeopardize their tax-exempt status my derriere.

This would be a good question for The Great One, Mark Levin. I’ve often wondered about it myself.

I think they need to be investigated,,a threat on someones tax status shouldn’t rattle an honest organization

Correction, contributions to the NJDC are NOT tax deductible. The group is a 501(c)(4). But the whole jeopardize their tax-exempt status excuse still sounds like a load of bushwah to me.
