It looks like the Democrats are shocked by a nominee who actually takes the initiative to show some leadership in the economic bailout bill as evidenced by the reaction of Democrat activist and CNN political contributor Donna Brazile. Appearing on a panel yesterday hosted by Campbell Brown which also included Gloria Borger and Tony Blankley, one could almost hear the song, "Don't Worry, Be Happy," in the background as Brazile assured us over and over that "progress" on the bailout was being made so there was no need for the nominees to appear in Washington except to passively cast a vote. Here is a transcript of the proceedings (emphasis mine):

If you want on my PJ’s NewsBusters Ping List, let me know.
Either mccain or obama are going to be in the White House, living with the results of this. It only seems right that they should be involved.
Donna and other democrat bastards are simply acknowledging that they do not have a leader at the top of their ticket. We Republicans do and want our leader there to make sure the democrats don’t make their financial mess even worse. They are the party of the stupid afterall...
Donna Brazile=Racist Useful Idiot
Brazile says neither candidate should get involved in the bailout bill because she knows McCain would have something good to offer and Obama wouldn’t.
Some times you feel like a nut, some times you don’t. Donna Brazille is a nut.
With her guy in the losing position on this issue, it’s nice to have Donna continue the digging.
From Hannity’s forums,
“Call me if you need me”. Obama says its the biggest crisis since the Depression, and he cant even be bothered showing up to vote PRESENT.
The thing that chaps my @ss is that ZerObama says we need a president who can do more than one thing at time...while demonstrating through his actions that he is only doing ONE thing at a t time...campaigning. (At least until Bush called his bluff.) But what chaps me is that the media doesn’t call him on it.
Both are senators. I think McCain made the right choice. Obama sounded annoyed and arrogant yesterday during his press conference.
Obama can’t risk taking a leadership role on this issue becuase he has too many hidden skeletons in his closet. Can’t have them spill out in the open when accusations on who is responsible for what start flying around.
NObama said...."If you need me........call me"
Real leadership there, Barry.
Leadership is running from crisis. "The better to keep one's hands clean, dearie," followed by the wicked witch's evil laugh.
You should have used all caps!
He kept looking the right and then the left, never looking straight ahead. I was getting nauseous, but I wasn't sure if it was motion sickness caused by his flailing head, or if it was what he said.
ROTFLOL!
I didn’t see the broadcast but listened to it on talk radio but his tone of voice didn’t impress me.
I saw it. I agree with your assessment. His body language suggested he was very annoyed.
So now CNN is a 527 group. It just lost it’s status as a news outlet
I really think the Dems are worried about the American people finding out what really happened. The Dems fingerprints are all over this mess and they don’t want the American people to pay attention.
McCain showed some true leadership by stepping up. I also think he is going to expose the Rats during this fiasco. This will be front and center until the end of this election.
