Awful ad. Who pays groups like this?

Never mind...it is a good ad. The lousy ad is the Hillary ad.

There are no three-minute-and-ten-second campaign ads, only three-minute-and-ten-second fund-raising gimmicks.

This is why it’s a web-ad and not a TV ad, read the announcement in the first post! We would love to do a TV ad to this effect, but how do you get more than 2 clips of Obama - that first clips is priceless and look how long it runs.

What I saw was a YouTube video, not an advertisement. The headline called it an ad. The announcement said, “watch this web ad” but never made clear that the so-called “ad” only existed as a YouTube clip.

Advertisers pay money to be shown to third parties. In what sense is a YouTube clip an ad? These PACs raise money on the premise that they will help political candidates to victory, but what money was spent in that pursuit? The only people the ad is pitched to are the people being solicited to pay for the ad. Therefore, it’s not really an anti-Obama ad at all, but merely a high-tech panhandling scheme that borders on fraud.

OK, tell ya what, when I'm in our small calcavade of vehicles rolling across 5,800 miles of highway with the Our Country Deserves Better committee holding our roughly 35 pro-McCain/Palin, anti-Obama/Biden rallies, you can keep posting snippy comments here calling the hard work of fellow conservatives "fraud" -- there's not much else I can say to someone like that.

I HATE reading posts from FReepers who rather than try to do something productive or constructive, instead carp about the actions of others.

But usually they don't come along with accusations of fraud.

Later!

It’s a great compilation of 0bama, but I don’t think they make a good case of comparison. If they want to compare Palin and 0bama, they need to compare same things. For instace, her experiences as a mayor and governor versus his experiences as Annenberg community organizer.

“How did an idiot like that even make it to the Illinois State Legislature?” I wonder this same thing too. Sarah Palin is much more qualified because she does love America and it’s people. This is a must!

Precisely. I too despise snivelers....love proactive, productive freepers.

Great ad....I would bet those who see it never knew he was such a creep.

Who says “above my paygrade” when talking about life?

This man is no President of the United States.

You sure can kick up a duststorm. But I notice you didn’t tell me who you pay to run this ad. Or where the contributions go. When someone gives money to Our Country Deserves Better, how does it go to win over undecided voters?

When I get solicited to give money to a campaign, I expect it actually gets spent to help win elections. If it doesn’t, the solicitation may not meet the legal definition of fraud, but that doesn’t mean there’s no deceit.

So you can turn red in the face writing away about who you hate, or you can simply explain what you do with the money that you take from conservatives.

And don’t try any high-handed comments doing nothing. I worked for several years at near poverty wages for a conservative organization which actually far more than another group supposedly dedicated to the same purpose, which took in roughly 100 times more cash but did nothing but make it’s executive director very rich. I finally left it so I could afford to raise a family, but I’m still fighting for conservatives.

Really? Who are those people who didn’t know that? I bet 99% of those who see it are already with us in the conservative echo chamber. Read post #37.

Ummmm....I had no idea that 99% of those who have viewed it, or will view it, are Republicans.

Now that is news!

Alright, I don't know why I'm taking the time to do this, other than I hate to see attacks/criticisms left unresponded to, but here ya go...

Our Country Deserves Better PAC formed a few months ago when it appeared John McCain's campaign was being too passive and also too "soft" in response to Obama.

The participants (see here: Who We Are - HERE - I'm Joe btw) had worked together on various past projects such as pro-troop group Move America Forward, recall of Gray Davis in California, trips to Iraq to support the troops, fight against illegal immigration (Hold Their Feet to the Fire, support of the San Diego Minutemen, etc...)

We formed to both motivate the base to vote for McCain (he certainly wasn't MY CHOICE for nominee, but when it came down to Obama winning the nomination it was clear that this was someone we could not entrust the governance to the United States to... not during this time in history). We also wanted to appeal to conservative Democrats and Hillary Clinton Democrats - focusing attention on the issues of Obama's horrible positions on national security matters, his ignorance and arrogance. We also recognized that Hillary Clinton supporters noted that Obama was all about HIM... and they hated that in the primary, and some of them not only want their party (the Democrat party) back (it's now run by Obama associates and allies obviously - which is typical for a party's nominee) but they also are responsive to the "country first" message.

Since we are a PAC we can only get contributions up to $5,000 per person... so we can't have someone give us a big chunk of money like how most 527s and 501c4's operate. Thus, we're never going to be able to say "this ad will have $3.5 million behind it" and get too much national press attention - they love Obama, and they will not report on opposition efforts unless they cannot ignore it.

So we are doing targeted TV ad campaigns (see the TV ads here: Our TV Ads and other videos - HERE ). in swing states (beginning in Michigan, Colorado, Nevada) and backing this up with a national tour with these roughly 35 rallies - we know we can get local press when we come into town.

So that is what we are doing and what donations go towards.

One final note to correct you on: an "ad" does not mean something is paid for or not. It means that it "advertises" something. In corporate arena that is a product, service or company. In political arena that means a candidate, cause or initiative.

This is a web ad against Obama and for McCain/Palin.

Our TV ads are all :30's and :60's as this is the amount of time most frequently sold. You can certainly by :10 second ads and :15 second ads, but you pay a much higher price per second for the ad.

You can hate our strategy if you want (I don't know that you do, but if you do that's fine). Disagree with our messaging. Say our tour and rallies are stupid if you like.

But please do not call us liars or frauds, when we've done nothing but work very hard, day-after-day, for very long hours.

Our singer accompanying these events is Lloyd Marcus who also produced these videos. He did this because this is his passion:
