silent_jonny: THANK YOU for posting so many AWESOME photos of our incredibly burdened and busy President — Could he possibly fit any more events into one day?!

PRESIDENT KARZAI CAPTURED PERFECTLY THE INNATE ‘GOODNESS’ OF GEORGE W BUSH:
“You will be leaving office, Mr. President, together with the Vice President, in a few months from today, but I would like you to remember as you leave office that Afghanistan will remember you tremendously, in a nice way, with affection, and you are there in our memory, in a golden place. Come and visit us so we can show it to you in a manner that we do traditionally in Afghanistan.

It’s an honor to have associated with you, to have had your friendship, and to have had your support, and to have had your patience with me — (laughter.) Very, very nice of you. I’ve yelled at times, I’ve been angry at times, but YOU’VE ALWAYS BEEN SMILING AND GENEROUS, AND JUST SO NICE.”

MUST READ . . .

CATHARSIS, THEN COMMON SENSE
By Charles Krauthammer

WASHINGTON — Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson went to Capitol Hill seeking $700 billion. He got an earful. Now, $700 billion is a serious sum, and Congress has the fiduciary responsibility to make sure the money it appropriates goes for a good cause. But from the indignant congressional demands for a laundry list of quid pro quos, you would have thought Paulson wanted it for his personal use.

In fact, Paulson is a lame duck. In four months, he is gone. Paulson is asking for the money not for self-aggrandizement but for the same reason Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke and the markets are asking for it: to prevent the American economy from going over a cliff.

Some disdain that assessment as hypothetical. Paulson and Bernanke, who actually peered into the abyss on Black Thursday (Sept. 18), think otherwise. They’re not infallible, but prudence dictates not risking the economy on the opposite bet.

As much as I have tried to stay away from the Politics here on FR, I’ve been drawn back in :-)

McCain deserves all of our support, not for his philosophy, but for the good of the Country.

In no time in my life have I ever been more against any candidate as I am against Barak Obama. This guy is wolf in sheep’s clothing that could end up bringing this country to its knees with his Marxists policies

God Bless all of you and I’ve truly missed all of you, but for my own mental health, I’ve stayed away. I’m back now and to hell with my menatl health, I love my country too much to stand by and let an empty suit like B. Hussein Obama become our next POTUS

WELCOME BACK!! . . . I’ve missed your supportive, insightful commentary! [BTW: If you’re interested in maintaining your mental health, I recommend that you avoid most nonDOSE/nonCANTEEN threads here at FR . . . Most of the threads are dominated by BDS-infected paleocons/neo-libertarians, and Ron Paul accolytes — a nasty combination!]

Thank you all for posting the Dose this week. I know it has been challenging with FR being down here and there and I know there have been many photos.

I will be posting a weekend dose but not till later tonight and since I live on the Left Coast it will be really late for some.

Here is a teaser for the photos I have found so far.
