My son is shipping off to Marine bootcamp in a few weeks.
He visited his myspace page last night and one of his many friends in the military told him that they checked their sources and indicated that the name that Barry said was on his bracelet was not active duty military. Some even indicated that he was an older gentleman. Apparently these guys are livid at what Barry did.
Is anyone able to verify if this is just a rumor or if Barry may have simply made up this name?
He’s not “active duty” because he’s dead.
Barry lie? Tell me it ain’t so.
He can lie, but his supporters encourage lying.

Others beat me to it, but the soldier is dead. Barry may use it as a prop, but he wasn’t lying.

I mean he was not an Iraq war vet. He was not in the military. If anything, these guys are saying he is an 80 something veteran.

Just google the name. He was a member of the National Guard.

Before anyone goes off on a tangent about this they better be damned sure they have their facts.
Barry is not an honest man- but this is too easily verified for him to lie about it..

The deaths, the soldiers said, shook the unit to the core. But the mission had to go on, and so the drivers, gunners and truck commanders got back into their Humvees and continued to click off the miles on the world’s most perilous roads.
“It kind of put everyone into a reality check that this is a dangerous job,” said Spc. Donald Hansen, a 20-year-old gunner from Pewaukee, Wis., “that our lives are at stake and that we should take nothing for granted.”
Please lets not sully this fine soldiers memory because Obama wears his bracelet or doesnt.
Obama used it as a campaign ploy...lets not stoop to such levels.
Sgt. Ryan David Jopek was killed in combat. His mom was a political junckie who saw McCain wear one, so she gave Barak her sons. If its means anything, when Obama looses the election, he’ll throw the braclet in the trash!
