Did Democrats Orchestrate A Bailout Failure To Boost Obama?
Strata-sphere ^ | Published by AJStrata at 11:50 am

First we have Nancy Pelosi giving a highly partisan pre-vote speech to enrage the GOP and try and get them to move to the exits - which, actually they didn’t, their numbers did not move that much at all. It was either the dumbest move on the planet to obtain bipartisan support - or a crafty bit of theatre to cover up a dark sinister secret.

Then, according to analysis done by Karl Rove, you have 5 Democrat Committee Chairs in VERY safe districts vote against the bailout??? Wait a minute - what was this all about? Why would these folks vote against the bill? Then there were numerous hyper liberal partisans like Barbara Lee, the Sanchez sisters numerous sub-committee chairs, and others - also in safe districts and who are natural allies of Obama and Pelosi - who voted “Nay”. What is going on here?

Earlier someone posted an article saying that the Demo House whip was not pressuring members to vote for the bailout. Does anyone have that clip? Need it ASAP for an article I’m writing. Thanks.

They most certainly did. McCain is dropping in the polls as per CNN (take that with a large grain of salt). The Dems will orchestrate anything to get their way. God save America if he and Biden win. No Obama. No Biden. No more 9/11s.

I think you give them too much credit. They aren’t that smart.

Though you might say that the beauty of the plan was in the fact that all they had to do was act like Democrats. But I say, if their plan was to act like what they are, what is the difference between having a plan and being themselves?

I go for Newt’s ideas:

“Gingrich’s four-point plan includes:
(1) suspending immediately mark to market provisions (the accounting practice of valuing a financial position in an investment at its current market price) in the hopes of stopping the downward spiral in asset values and eventually replacing it with a three year rolling average;
(2) repealing immediately Sarbanes-Oxley, the 2002 accounting law Gingrich described as “an enormous drag on small business”;
(3) setting the capital gains tax rate at zero “matching the Chinese and Singapore” (to encourage private capital to flood into the market picking up properties without the taxpayers being at risk); and
(4) passing an “extraordinarily powerful” energy bill (”to return $500 billion a year to the American economy that are currently going overseas”).”

If they did, it was a boneheaded move that failed and is blowing up in their faces!!

The Republicans are not so think as they dumb they are and ended up representing the voters and taxpayers of America who DIDN’T WANT A BAILOUT!!!!

All the fancy footwork today by the Dems and the DBM is cover for an incredibly bad idea that didn’t work.

I would bet on it! This has all been orchestrated including by Paulson and I will even throw in Bush since he sided with the Dems against Sen McCain.

Was so happy to hear McCain calling for an investigation now into who caused this mortgage crises.

Like Rush said — RENT!

If Paulson can sieze Freddie and Fannie without asking the gardener, let alone congress, why can he not have Fannie and Freddie start buying the toxic debt in the market?

Why could he buy 80% of AIG for $89B without legislation?

In other words, why does he need legislation now?

I believe this bill SHOULD fail. That being said, of course the RATS wanted this to fail so they, with the help of the MSM, could blame Republicans for it’s failure. If it HAD passed the RATS would have taken credit for it passing again with the help of the MSM.

Probably. Why else did those five committee chairs vote NO? Those aren’t loose cannons or weak newbies.

I understand why the CBC did. They wanted ACORN back in. And maybe now they’ll get it.

Possibly they were all pulling for the Community Groups provision for groups like ACORN to be put back in the legislation.

From an LA Times story...

Strangely, perhaps, some House members on both sides said the pressure from their leaders for a yes vote was milder than they had expected.

There was "no whipping on my side of the floor," said Shays, who voted for the plan.

"Leadership did not go around and jam people," agreed Rep. Vernon J. Ehlers (R-Mich.), another yes vote.

Democrats said that as the number of "yes" votes faltered, Pelosi and other Democratic leaders began trying to rustle up more support.

Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) said Pelosi approached him to ask if he would reverse his vote.

"There wasn't any arm-twisting or anything like that," Thompson said. Pelosi could be tough, he said, but in this case "she wasn't."

I expect to see Obama ride in on his white horse and save the day by convincing these hold-out Dems to vote for it. “For the little people” of course. “McCain couldn’t do what I, the great Black Oz, could do.”

I am praying for the Lord to bring confusion to his entire campaign.

And then I am ready to tar and feather Pelosi and those others who are selling out our country.

grrrr
