GREENSBORO -- Vice presidential nominee Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will attend a fundraiser event on Oct. 16 in Greensboro, according to Joe Hauck at the New Breed Company in Greensboro.
The event, which most likely won't be open to the public, will be held at the home of Louis DeJoy, president of Greensboro logistics copany New Breed, the News and Record reported.
DeJoy is the state finance chair for the McCain/Palin ticket.
Palin is also scheduled to make another swing through the Tarheel state leading up to Election Day in November.
She will be attending a rally on the campus of East Carolina on Tuesday, McCain campaign officials confirmed.
McCain's last visit to North Carolina was on Primary Day in May. He spoke at Wake Forest University during that stop.
Interesting that she will appear at ECU.
We could use some love up here in WNC, Obamao is going to do a rally in Asheville at the local High School...
Sorry Asheville!
When my husband and I were dating he was living in Greensboro, NC and I was living in Chattanooga, TN. Asheville was a good midway point. Its a nice place for a weekend, but it seemed to be packed to the gills with liberals and people devoted to the oddest things.
Exactly, Asheville is a liberal island, but it is also the key to neutralizing WNC going for McCain/Palin.
The surrounding counties are run by blue dog/Southern Democrats, McCain/Palin should win them, but Asheville the population center could help to blunt their impact on winning NC.
Asheville is known as SF East...
Like people determined to live on the side of a flippin' mountain.
I do believe that The People's Republic of Chapel Hill has contested that claim.
Memo to the McCain campaign: Send Sarah to Virginia—ASAP. If the polls are accurate, his lead has evaporated (only Mason-Dixon shows him in the lead). Palin would greatly energize the GOP base in areas he has to win, Hampton Roads, southern VA, and the southwestern portion of the state. Governor Palin could also put a dent in Obama’s support in the D.C. suburbs.
As I’ve stated in other posts, the McCain “strategy” in VA is unfathomable. In a state he has to win, McCain’s advertising has been spotty, and he hasn’t been here in months (if you don’t count visits to his Arlington headquarters).
Meanwhile, Obama will be back in Hampton Roads this weekend for the fourth time. I don’t know what McCain’s team is thinking, but VA needs serious attention.
Chapel Hill is “The People’s Republik of...”
