This time, conservatives in Tinseltown have collaborated to communicate their ideas, but theyre doing it in jocular way.
The movie has a cast that includes veteran stars Kelsey Grammer, Jon Voight, James Woods, Dennis Hopper, Robert Davi, and Leslie Nielsen. With this kind of lineup, youd expect some great performances. And there are, under the master comedy direction of Zucker.
The plot loosely follows Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol, with Kevin Farley playing the character of Michael Malone, a modern-day Scrooge who wants to abolish the July Fourth holiday.
Paris Hilton, who happens to be a Sen. Barack Obama supporter, is in the movie as an award presenter.
Country singer Trace Adkins uses his baritone voice to portray the Angel of Death and scare the pants off Malone.
And Davi is a scene stealer. He relies on his history of playing heavies to come up with a farcical caricature of a terrorist ring leader.
The movie has plenty of Zuckers trademark unvarnished humor, some of which is likely to stir up controversy. For instance, anti-war protesters chant, Peace now. We don't care how! as they carry signs that read:
End Violence War Is Not the Answer!
End Disease Medicine Is Not the Answer!
It's Too Dark Outside The Sun Is Not the Answer!
Overpopulation Gay Marriage Is the Answer!

now that’s funny.
Mrs. Caleb and I will help to swell the box office totals this weekend.
We are going tonight. Don’t forget that Bill Maher’s movie denouncing religion opens tonight also. We need to make An American Carol hit the roof this weekend.
I almost dropped my teeth when I thought I heard Rosie O’Donnell. Instead it was Rosie O’Connell.
Well, what S. California FReepers are going to the movies tonight? Perhaps somewhere near the Upland area? :)
I listened to Zucker on Dennis Prager yesterday. He had to go to French distributer to get his movie out.
Rather a sad comment on the character of Hollywoods industry that they can not put their politics aside for a proven money making director.
I was really happy to hear Rush strongly encourage his audience to go see this movie this weekend!
I will be doing the exact same thing!
We’re going today..want to see it before reading reviews...always better that way. By the way, I saw about five movies last week..(DON’T ASK)...the best one was GHOST TOWN...not that it was great..but it was fun with a great message.
Reading the reviews is fun though. It’s almost hysterical reading the defensive left when stuff like this comes out.
I expect as many laughs from the obsessive paranoia of the left as I do laughs from the movie.
I AM ANGRY!!!!!
My daughter and I have been eagerly waiting to see this film - but IT ISN’T BEING RELEASED IN CANADA, apparently. That other religiosity atrocity is - but not Carol!
Can’t understand it! Anyone out there know why? We can’t seem to find out through the Canadian film outlets - does someone know someone in the U.S. who can find out why we aren’t getting it here? We get every movie shown in the U.S. normally, as it is being shown in the U.S.
Help!
