Recent main stream media and other pollsters have (again) played the "race card" (funny that the Obama campaign, the MSM, and the DNC are the only ones who seem to do this) by insinuating that the reason a fairly good number of democrats, particularly white democrats, may not support Barack Hussein Obama, is because he is black.
Apart from the assertion itself being racist, I beg to differ.
As a result of my fairly popular AUDACITY OF TRUTH and my SARAH PALIN TRUMPS OBAMA_BIDEN sites, I have spoken to many democrats via email, on forums, and some even by phone. Most of them are rather moderate, but some of them fairly staunch. A surprising number are not supporting Obama.
Why?
Not because "he is black".
Here, let me list the reasons I have been given via email and on forums such as the PUMA sites and others.
My experiences may not be "scientific" from a polling or demographic standpoint... but I question some of the so-called scientific polls that (when you push into their supporting data) use a fairly large disproportionate number of democrats vs republicans...and then when Obama is winning by 2-5% the results are trumpeted as some kind of "break through" for him.
- THE WAY MANY OF THEM FEEL THAT OBAMA, THE MSM, THE DNC, AND OTHERS TREATED HILLARY. They feel that Obama, the MSM, the DNC, NOW, etc. have shown their true colors and that their commitment to women and breaking through the glass ceiling is a sham.
- OBAMA'S TIES TO WRIGHT, AYERS, & REZKO. Many of them know intrinsically that these people, with whom Obama has willfully built his political career, are not friends of this Republic...even the more socialist republic some of them want to see instituted.
- OBAMA'S STATEMENTS ABOUT HOW HE WOULD HANDLE FOREIGN AFFAIRS HAVE DEEPLY TROUBLED SOME OF THEM. Many of these people, despite their liberal leanings, like Liberman for example, want America protected from and want to defeat the abject enemies of this nation.
- JOHN MCCAIN IS VIEWED AS A MAVERICK BY THESE PEOPLE WHO WILL REACH ACROSS THE AISLE TO THEM. They feel that McCain is an acceptable alternative in their desire to defeat Obama and set up Hillary for 2012.
- SARAH PALIN ON THE TICKET. This goes back to the first reason. Even though her views are in direct opposition to their own, and even though they see the threat she poses to Hillary in 2012 if a McCain-Palin ticket is elected, there is something about her home-spun, and in the face of Obama ways that a lot of these people like, and they are committed to their ideal of breaking the so-called glass ceiling.
Anyhow, based on my own experiences with people from all over the nation via my sites, I believe that McCain-Palin are very well situated to win, and potentially win bigger than the MSM, the pundits, and the DNC imagine.
...or, more likely, they do see it in their internal data and they fear it.
Never before has this Republic been this close to electing such a dead-soul leftist as president. Yes, dead soul leftist. What else can you call a man who would consciously try to protect infanticide, as his empowering way to prevent erosion to the Roe v Wade culture of abortion on demand?

“I believe that McCain-Palin are very well situated to win, and potentially win bigger than the MSM, the pundits, and the DNC imagine.”
Jeff, I couldn’t possibly agree with you more.
It doesn’t mean we can let up either — we still have to roll up our sleeves and do the work...but by God this thing isn’t over.
And besides, I don’t own a white flag...and I rather die than to wave one personally.
The VAST majority of people opposing Obama do so because of his positions, his associations, and his attitudes.
No doubt there are some percent who are racist, but, IMHO, it is a very small number compared to the whole.

His associations with the 'hate whitey' crowd for years and years are revolting.
The only time touted by his supporters, he took it all back shortly afterwards.
RE: “....... do you think the racist liberals would be giving the time of day to a first term U.S. Senator whose only prior experience was being a “community organizer” and a State Legislator with a habit of voting “Present”?
Really?
Would they?”
OF COURSE NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even Geraldine Ferraro said it early in the campaign, but was shot down by her own party. The whole thing is disgusting.
I agree that McCain must step up. He can probably do that best by unshackling and unbridling Sarah and letting her take the message to the people all over this country. But he himself must also be in that fight, actively.
Read on almost every story on every poll that they say in fine print that they oversampled DEM’s, Blacks and sheeple !
( I um......added sheeple)
Reached across the aisle? Astonishing! Would you grasp a dripping with the blood of innocent children killed in infanticide Obama hand ‘reaching across the aisle’? ... Yeah, I expect you would. I just love it when agitprops come on FreeRepublic and claim a dead-soul leftists has ‘reached across the aisle’.
You know, he is of mixed-race parentage.
That makes him a NEWSPAPER.
Black and White and RED all over.
Cheers!
I was raised in Texas by parents from the deep south. I understand that there is some of that sentiment. But myself, and all of my deep south relatives, (many of them old conservative democrats who went in huge numbers for Reagan), would vote for someone like Clarence Thomaas in an intant over Obama or other far leftists...white, black, red, yellow, or brown.
McPain MUST lead the charge.
Sarah shouldn’t be the only one carry HIS water.
That said, you left out "Obama is a lawyer" from your list of reasons why some dems won't vote for him. Doesn't matter whether he's a white lawyer or a black lawyer, he's still a lawyer. Doesn't matter he's a white crook or a black crook, he's still a crook. The Age-Old question of what percentage of lawyers are crooks needs a askin'! This month we're a answerin' that question.
Apart from the MSM and Obama campAign trying to manufacture the illusion of him rweaching across the aisle, I know of no time he did so for anything of substance, or particularly to buck his own leadership. The man is the most partisan leftist in the Senate.
It's because She's a Hottie!
Every guy in America was thinking, "She's winking at ME!"
(And then either their wife caught them, or they remembered Todd...)
Cheers!
The Anglo American has been unable to effectively deal with a Negro candidate. The issues of Blackness and the mortgage crisis come to mind. The certainty of reparations(Wealth Transfer)if B. Hussein is elected. The increase in discrimination against white’s in employment and college admissions. There will even be a change in history i.e. it is becoming increasingly obvious that blacks won WWII. MacArthur, Nimitz, Ike were front men for a brilliant group of blacks working behind the scene due to the then climate of hate.
