“Gotta love how the AP editorializes the news.”

I just fired off an email to them on that very point.

What about Rev. Wright, the left’s David Duke? What is the media going to say if she goes after associations with him? Predictable but not right.

Moronic AP finds race an issue? I don’t get it - Ayers is white!

Reminds me of an incident a few years back, when Rush called some large women “water buffaloes”. And this was somehow considered racist! Just a few minutes prior on that very day, I called a large white guy who messed up some work on my home a water buffalo, unbeknownst to me and the rest of the world that that had a racist connotation.

The AP is truly part of the Obama campaign. Again, I have no clue as to how his association with Ayers makes this a racist statement.

Palin was referring to an event that Ayers hosted for Obama early in the Illinois senator’s career. But the AP notes, “No evidence shows they were ‘pals’ or even close when they worked on community boards years ago and Ayers hosted a political event for Obama early in his career.”

So they admit the connection but say there is no connection at the same time. That kind of a connection to a terrorist that they acknowledge is quite substantial - and they act like it is no big deal for someone to have an event hosted for them by a terrorist in their home? Are we living in the twilight zone or what here?

...an analysis by the Associated Press that concluded her attempts to establish a friendship between Barack Obama and Weather Underground member William Ayers were “unsubstantiated and carried a racially tinged subtext that John McCain himself may come to regret."

Dignifying the tripe that Mr. Douglass K. Daniel writes as "analysis" is absurd. He is a partisan hack, not some AP oracle of truth.

I did some searching, and Mr. Daniel shows up frequently with this kind of misquoting or quoting suspect sources as truth. For instance, AP Reports 'Bush Lied' Study Funded by Ultra-leftist George Soros which dissects one of Mr. Daniel's efforts.

NewsBusters also has this page http://newsbusters.org/people/douglass-k-daniel with some more of Mr. Daniel's work. His hateful piece on the occasion of Tony Snow's death was especially disgusting.

Of course, when your best known literary effort is about a television series (Lou Grant: The Making of TV's Top Newspaper Drama), you are still probably a cut above your average AP reporter.

Uh-oh, instead of being the perky winking dimwit, the new media spin on Palin will be that she's "mean" and "bitter".

Just you wait and see. Now that she's fighting back, the narrative will once again change. They're going to ramp up the Palin Destruction Squad to annihilate her once and for all.

Actually, this is rather sad to behold. If McCain and Palin were winning, they wouldn't have to focus on this stuff. But they're down big time in the polls, and so they need to keep swinging on this when in a better economy and with a better guy on the top of the ticket, they would be able to talk about "the issues" and not get down and dirty like this. The conservative media hasn't come after Obama the way they did Kerry. Bush didn't even have to attack Kerry's Vietnam escapades. The Swift Boat Vets did it for him. McCain has no Swift Boaters -- probably because he has no Rove.

I think Palin is thinking, "I not leaving the national stage without giving these jerks as good as I got." They've been merciless to her, why shouldn't she go down swinging.

I’d believe it myself, but we have a lot of independents and apoliticals in this country who are planning on voting Obama but would NOT vote for him if they knew this stuff.

We don’t have that much time. How to best get this out there?

Rather than preaching to the choir around here, best to send out an email blast to friends and family a) you believe are on the fence; b) who will continue the chain of information.

Info blast should be well written and concise with bullet items and linked reference sources. Make sure the links work!

I think there are two separate things going on here. Yes, the McCain campaign could be in better shape, and we could have had a better candidate. It is what it is.

The fact that the Drive-bys have been in Palin-induced apoplexy for over a month, and seeing it get worse, that’s fun to watch. They’re doing more damage to their own credibility (as if they ever had any) than anyone else’s.
