Some good news for Dole. Looks like she is coming back from the brink.

Dole up - barely. But not enough. Undecideds will likely break against her. She needs to have a 3-4 point lead.

I doubt it will be this close. Republicans typically underperform in NC polls.

The RCP average for NC in 2004 was 5 points below Bush’s winning margin.

I wouldn’t count Dole out. She has cash.

That’s good to see. I haven’t followed the race closely, but it’s my understanding she was lagging in the polls a while back.

I’m hoping Norm Coleman pulls it out come Election Day, too. He’s not my fave, but any win that helps keep Harry Reid short of a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate works for me right now.

True. Burr was almost always trailing Bowles in 2004, and Helms, as he used to remind people, never led in the polls except in 1996.

I wishe we had some good news here in Virginia about Jim Gilmore. It seem that he has not moved up even though Mark Warner rips NRA members, Christian Coalition and Home Schoolers.

Like I said, Republicans underperform in NC polls.

You mention cash... a little off topic, but the cash factor is one of the reasons Obama may do well in polls in IN and NC. As I understand, he’s spent millions and millions in those states. McCain hasn’t spent a dime on those states so far.

I’m not. She just needs to pad her lead a bit. I’m thinking about sending a donation.

Yeah I saw that. Unbelievable. It won’t help Warner doing that though. NRA should make him enemy #1. Warner has POTUS ambitions so he ought not be taken lightly. Granted, he’s boring as hell.

Yes but Obama’s saturation has likely gotten his message to anyone who is receptive. Look for a McCain ad push in the last couple weeks to bring the states back into the fold. And certainly a visit or two either McCain, Palin, or both.

It next to impossible to Rebs to give you an answer on the phone when calling for a poll. They all hand up except for the libs. The good thing about the NC situation is that Obama is pouring resources in there as oppose to elsewhere.

However, the biggest problem facing her and McCain is the walkin and talkin money that will be used to procure the black vote for Obama.

Obama has got to be cut off from his source of $$$s...namely these internet contributions which have no documentation what so ever. If we had a real AG we could get the FBI to trace the source of these contributions over the internet. I suspect they're coming from a small few nodes with various addresses and using these easily obtainable pre-paid Mastercard and Visas.

This seems like a big effort...and it is...but how much junk mail do you get from Nigeria, Kenya, and the former Soviet Union? There a countless individuals out there who have been given a pc and the information to type in. Once the local copper makes it to the satellite node they've got broadband. If you've got 10,000 people world-wide entering this stuff you can launder a lot of money in a very small time.

Isn't technology wonderful?

Who is Liddy’s opponent. Is there any way we can help, adwise?

Liddy did herself smart by voting AGAINST the ridiculous bailout that the Senate rubber stamped after adding even more pork.

Gilmore was dead on arrival the moment he was nominated. Warner unfairly blamed Gilmore for the budget problems in Warner's first year in office. He whined like crazy. The press and public bought it. Gilmore's ratings went down and never recovered.

Gilmore will easily lose by 10 to 15 points and the race will be called at 7 pm sharp.

Mark Warner makes my skin crawl. There has been almost no coverage of the senate race in the Wash DC area and Gilmore has no money for ads.

The last time I checked, M. Warner had $4 million and Gilmore had $250,000. No one gives money to a candidate who is 30 points behind in the polls.

Dole will win this comfortably, and McCain will win NC easily.

I’m in NC and we are in for a barnburner. Turnout, turnout, turnout all NC freepers and make sure all your conservative family and friends do too. Our state is a battleground in both top of the ticket elections and don’t try to convince yourself otherwise. Its time to fight hard! This race will be won by the ground game.
