Team Obama Spin Lies About Ayers

Since Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin has specifically targeted Barack Obama on the campaign trail for “palling around” with domestic terrorist William Ayers, Obama’s chief advisors seem to be at loss for words.

One prominent campaign message man has even lied about Obama’s admiration for a critique written by the former terrorist who conducted despicable acts in his youth, about the juvenile justice system.

Obama Spokesman Bill Burton denied Obama ever favorably reviewed Ayers’ 1997 book on the juvenile justice system, sarcastically titled "A Kind and Just Parent” in an interview with Fox News Company’s Megyn Kelly Tuesday.

“He did not write a blurb for his book,” Burton said. “He did not.”

Contrary to what Burton said, a December 1997 article from the Chicago Tribune contains a statement from Obama describing Ayers’ book as “A searing and timely account of the juvenile court system, and the courageous individuals who rescue hope from despair.”

The book plainly recognizes Ayers’ involvement in terrorist acts.

The Amazon.com description of Ayers’ book says “For five years, Ayers, a former member of the radical 1960s Weathermen organization, acted as a teacher and an observer in Chicago's Juvenile Court prison, the nations first and largest institution of juvenile justice….the court today epitomizes the confused and confusing way American justice deals with children…Ayers shows that we must overcome our preconceived notions of these children and learn to deal with the realities of their lives.”

A month before Obama’s flattering blurb was published, Obama participated in a panel about the juvenile justice system hosted by the University of Chicago and organized by Obama’s wife Michelle, then-Associate Dean of Student Services and Director of the University Community Service Center.

At the time Mrs. Obama said, “This panel gives students a chance to hear about the juvenile justice system not only on a theoretical level, but from the people who have experienced it.”

According to the University of Chicago’s release on the event Obama was invited because he was “working to combat legislations that would put more juvenile offenders into the adult system,” at the time.

Obama’s Campaign Manager David Axelrod told CNN on Monday that Obama did go to Ayers home in 1995 for an event that helped launch his political career but “he didn’t know the history” about Ayers’ violent past, which included plans to bomb the Pentagon and the U.S. Capitol as a founding member of the radical Weather Underground terrorist group, at the time.

A number of conservatives, led by the popular talk-radio host and television personality Sean Hannity have called on Obama to disclose exactly when he learned about Ayers’ radical past, but no one from the Obama campaign has made that information available.

Obama Communications Director Robert Gibbs said he didn’t know anything about Obama’s relationship with Ayers firsthand. “I don’t know the details of this,” he told Fox News Tuesday. “I do know what I read in newspapers.”

The New York Times published a news story over the weekend that stated Obama has “downplayed” his relationship with Ayers, but the GOP has exaggerated it.

When asked directly about his friendship with the former terrorist Obama has described Ayers “a guy who lives in my neighborhood” who “engaged in detestable acts when I was eight years old.”

Obama also likened his disagreements with Ayers over his radical acts to his disagreements with Republican Sen. Tom Coburn in a previous Democratic primary debate.

He didn't know Ayers was a terrorist, he didn't know Rev Wright was a race baiting America hater.

Did that fool live with blinders on for over 20 years of his life? I'm not buying one bit of it.

I think if McCain or Palin put it out there like that for the American people to decide, they would probably wonder too why Obama associates with one America Hater after another and "doesn't know anything about it".

It seems to me that require a willing suspension of disbelief.

This is a nice summary. Too bad Obama never was seen in the vicinity of an Alaskan Independence Party meeting, because the MSM would absolutely fry him for that.

Well, it appears he did not. . .is this written on book cover? OR. ..was he offering his opinion. He should be held accountable; but 'we' need to be specific.

A month before Obama’s flattering blurb was published, Obama participated in a panel about the juvenile justice system hosted by the University of Chicago and organized by Obama’s wife Michelle, then-Associate Dean of Student Services and Director of the University Community Service Center.

This wasn't just any panel...Ayers was invited by Michelle and Barack spoke there:

Michelle Obama organized a University of Chicago panel about Bill Ayers's crime book in November 1997, just as the battle over the juvenile justice bill was heating up. That panel featured appearances by some of the key figures discussed in Ayers's book, along with Obama himself, who was identified in the press release as "working to block proposed legislation that would throw more juvenile offenders into the adult system." In effect, then, this public event was a joint Obama-Ayers effort to sink the juvenile justice bill-Obama's decision to plug Ayers's book in the Chicago Tribune the following month was part of the same political effort.

Weekly Standard

So...their denials don't cut it. Here is a screen shot from the University Website:

Absolutely. And we have to keep in mind that Ayers and his ties to Obama are news to at least half of the country.

None of this matters now. John McCain has blown it. He should NEVER have been the Republican candidate. First, he’s not a conservative. I am not sure he’s even a Republican. Well, maybe a RINO. Second, he just has no fight in him. What a complete wimp!
I have mentioned this Ayers connection to people and they say...who? The media just won’t cover anything that will make Obama look bad. It’s just like Clinton. When they love a candidate, they go all out for him. It’s sickening but what can you do?

Is there anything in this book by Ayers that Obama lauded that says anything about Ayers Weathermen or is acts? That then would establish a "when did he know".

Obama probably didn't write the review. Probably Ayers wrote it and got Obama to put his name to it. In all the linguistic analysis fever, this should be looked at.

Obama to Palin: 'Don't Mock the Constitution' (Washington Post September 9, 2008 Peter Slevin)
"My position has always been clear: If you've got a terrorist, take him out," Obama said. "Anybody who was involved in 9/11, take 'em out."

BULLSTALIN

This from a man who befriended a terrorist who bombed the Pentagon back in the 1970s. Hey Barry, when are you gonna "take out" Bill Ayers? You lying Marxist scumbag.

He didn’t know that you probably weren’t a Christian as a child if you were never baptised by your atheist mother and your non-observant muslim fathers, if you studied the koran at school, if you are pleased after being named after your Catholic turned muslim grandfather (who adopted the new name on his conversion), and if you are proud that you can still recite the Islamic call to prayer in Arabic.

People are known to TRADE blurbs for their books too. Praise the man but ignore the text itself. And yes, it can all be handled through a publicist.

This should sink Obama. He pulled a Clinton. It’s not the original sin, although that’s bad enough. It’s the fact he’s lying to cover up his association that should sink him if the MSM do their jobs. He didn’t lie under oath, but there’s an emerging body of evident coming out that he certainly lied in statements regarding his associations with Ayers. To that snot nosed brat ended up being a player in politics in Chicago because of his trust fund. Makes my blood boil. Ayers is the worst kind of troublemaking trash.

Last night during the debate, I swear Obama said, “Some of you might remember 9/11...” (might or may not sure which word he used)

As if it was just a short story in the NYTs or MSNBC.

Its not like, some of you might remember the 1972 Super Bowl, or some of you might remember the show Good Times.

I have a question. Why does William Ayers want to be pals with Obama? The only difference between Ayers and Timothy McVeigh is the Body Count.
