ALICE COOPER Says SARAH PALIN Is 'Totally A Breath Of Fresh Air'

Although legendary rocker Alice Cooper has been often quoted in the media as a supporter of the Republican Party, Cooper set the record straight during a recent interview with Canada's Hour.ca. "I'll be honest, I go from Democrat to Republican," he said. "I vote for the person, not the party. [As for U.S. Vice President hopeful Sarah Palin], I think she's totally a breath of fresh air. When they say she has no experience, maybe that's what Washington needs. I still don't know who I'm going to vote for. But in a shooting war, I want a pit bull, not a poodle. I'm gonna go for the hawk."

Notice how reporters make a BIG deal out of celebrities who MIGHT be Republicans?

They hounded Bruce Willis until he distanced himself from Republicans. I did see a piece where he talked about being a Conservative recently.

Alice Cooper has consistently supported Republicans over the years...but, he has to appear as an “independent” just in case someone might be offended.

Gotta sell those albums and golf clubs.

This guys a straight shooter. I LOVE HIM. I’ve listened to his weekend FM radio show before and said the music of the 90’s was the worst and that the 80’s was much better.

Wasn’t it Alice Cooper that was a golfing buddy of Nixon?

Bob Hope.

I was in a karaoke bar last night auditioning a female singer for my new band and I heard the funnyest comment.

I was sitting at a table with people who worked in the place (bartender and waitress) and their significant others. They were all “thirty somethings” that you would categorize as “lower middle class”. Anyway, the boyfriend of the waitress starts going off on Palin being picked strictly to make the stupid lower middle class think she is one of them.

I started to rip him a new one - politely - but backed off. His gf saw what was coming, I saw that she saw, and decided it was not worth it. You could tell she was REALLY uncomfortable with just how much I knew, and I thank Freerepublic for the lions share of that.

It was an interesting moment though.

Vincent Furnier's father was an Elder in his Church. Alice rejected his faith at a young age, only to return to it after he sobered up.

Didn’t he once run for, or threaten to run for Arizona’s Statehouse. I recall the slogan “A Troubled Man For Troubled Times.”

Classic Alice Cooper quote from 2004:

Shock-rock legend Alice Cooper calls rock stars campaigning for Democrat John Kerry treasonous morons.

The 56-year-old Cooper says he was disgusted to learn the likes of Bruce Springsteen, John Mellencamp, R.E.M., Sheryl Crow, James Taylor and Dave Matthews were hitting the road for a series of concerts designed to help defeat President Bush.

"To me, that's treason," Cooper told the Canadian Press. "I call it treason against rock 'n' roll because rock is the antithesis of politics. Rock should never be in bed with politics."

"When I was a kid and my parents started talking about politics, I'd run to my room and put on the Rolling Stones as loud as I could. So when I see all these rock stars up there talking politics, it makes me sick.

"If you're listening to a rock star in order to get your information on who to vote for, you're a bigger moron than they are. Why are we rock stars? Because we're morons. We sleep all day, we play music at night and very rarely do we sit around reading the Washington Journal."

"Besides," he continued, "when I read the list of people who are supporting Kerry, if I wasn't already a Bush supporter, I would have immediately switched. Linda Ronstadt? Don Henley? Geez, that's a good reason right there to vote for Bush."

Gotta love Mr. Vincent Furnier. I hear he has a degree in business or economics or something.

He has done well promoting his alter ego. He could probably pull it off on the political stage.

Dana Carvey however still talks with GHW Bush on the phone and meets with him.

Dana did a killer HW impersonation on SNL, so he's probably still apologizing.

"Wouldn't be prudent."

Palin/Cooper ‘08?

Yeah, I can dig it. Definitely a stronger ticket than the current one.

I encounter that all the time. People want to spew these ill-informed, half-baked cliches to show how hip and in-the-know they are. They literally are stunned when you confront their stupid opinion and ask them to back it up in anyway.

That wasn't part of the bargain! You were supposed to agree and be impressed with their shallow misunderstandings of these important issues.

I swear, there's dudes who watch "The View" - they must be getting their insights from somewhere.

I share a similar story of returning to my faith, after wandering in the desert for a time. :)

Yep, great line! I want a pit bull, not a poodle. Needs to go on bumper stickers and t-shirts!
