The strange thing is I cannot even find an obituary for Obama’s mother or grandfather. But I have found alarming quotes. For example:

I was only 7 in 1988 so I’m not sure if it was real or just the conceit of the SNL sketch, but you’re absolutely right it’s pretty weird. Especially since the SNL Primetime election stuff that starts in a few minutes is already 30 minutes of advertising for the Obama campaign.
How about this passage??
In the work, Obama considered a parenthetical abortion issue — whether unborn children have a legal right to sue their mothers for damage sustained during pregnancy, from such things as alcohol or illegal drugs.
Obama says no and writes supportively of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court case and another from the Illinois Supreme Court saying no such right exists.
According to Politico, Obama wrote: “[T]he case raises the broader policy and constitutional considerations that argue against using civil liability to control the behavior of pregnant women.”
In a discussion of abortion itself, Obama wrote that government has more important business than “ensuring that any particular fetus is born.”
He also decried any limits on abortion, saying the government has an interest in “preventing increasing numbers of children from being born in to lives of pain and despair.”
Politico said the Obama campaign confirmed the pro-abortion presidential candidate wrote the piece in question and that it was one of the typical articles law students would write briefing and opining on federal and state court decisions.
In an email to the web site, Obama spokesman Ben LaBolt also confirmed that Obama “remains committed to” the sentiments he expressed in the piece.

The ‘Bradley effect’ is named after Tom Bradley, who ran for Mayor of LA. At the time, polls showed him winning handily over his opponent of European extraction. He himself is of African extraction. IN the event, votes shifted dramatically to his opponent, suggesting that those being polled purposely misstated their actual intention, perhaps due to sensitivity about being considered racist in believing Mr. Bradley less qualified than his opponent.
So, the suggestion, which has not yet been defused, is that black candidates always have better poll results than would otherwise be the case, simply because some respondents lie about their intentions or eventually change their minds when they actually vote. The estimate is that the swing is about 5 percentage points away from the black candidate, though this may only reflect leftist candidates and thus may well also reflect eventual voter disenchantment overcoming initial intent to give the black person a leg up, as it were.

Tom Bradley was Mayor of Los Angeles for 20 years, this supposed discrepancy happened when he was running for Governor in the 1980s, I believe against George Deukmejian.
