Putin: US image damaged forever over economy woes

MOSCOW (AP) — The financial crisis has irreparably damaged the image of the U.S. as the leader of the free world and the global economy, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said Thursday.

Putin's remarks during a Communist Party meeting were the latest Russian attack singling out the U.S. as the chief culprit in the global financial turmoil.

"Trust in the United States as the leader of the free world and the free economy, and confidence in Wall Street as the center of that trust, has been damaged, I believe, forever," Putin said. "There will be no return to the previous situation."

Putin and President Dmitry Medvedev have repeatedly accused the U.S. of responsibility for the crisis and called for changes in the world financial system.

The only difference between Putin and the typical loser third-world dictator who blames all his nation’s woes on the U.S. is that the former has a nuke arsenal.

Trust in the United States as the leader of the free world and the free economy, and confidence in Wall Street as the center of that trust, has been damaged, I believe, forever,” Putin said. “There will be no return to the previous situation.”

Statement from Communist Party USA (CPUSA):

“The Communist Party USA views the 2008 elections as a tremendous opportunity to defeat the policies of the right-wing Republicans and to move our country in a new progressive direction.

The record turnout in the Democratic Presidential primary races shows that millions of voters, including millions of new voters, are using this election to bring about real change. We wholeheartedly agree with them.”

Re-opened the Russian exchange yet, Pooti? Oh, and that sucking sound you’re hearing is hard rubles departing for the U.S. market. It may be declining but it’s going to be around for awhile, or at least that’s the way to bet. Best of luck with that retirement condo in Orlando.

Big whoop. Russia’s image is still reeling from their domination of Eastern Europe and their renewed desires for a new Soviet Em[pire.

Regardless of what Mr KGB has to say the USA will in fact recover and under the proper leadership will become the shining example of not only the free world but the world in general. Never underestimate the free people of the USA. LONG LIVE THE REPUBLIC.

Nah, forever is a long time. How often do people talk about Russia’s treachery in attacking Poland from the East in 1939, or the Katyn forest? Time papers these things over.

I’ll take a stab,

None of this is really serious of course but we can imagine...
Pull all forigen aid, except those that are truly allied with US, Smash Freddie & Fannie, Jail Frank the idiot boy and his wall street ilk. Expell the UN. Drill Drill Drill. Military attitude of “Mess with any of us and you die, no troops, just really big bombs”. Become as Isolationist as we can, for like.. 5 years.

Tunes will change. Actually I think the world would colapse around us.

So I guess that’s not an option.
How much is a barrel of oil? How much for a bushell of corn or wheat?

OK, I’ll play Vlashmeres Pukins game:

Dude, you take your sh.. uh stuff, and we’ll take ours. Were done, We aint friends, Nuke us and well ensure nothing lives or grows in the Russiian territory for like- the half life of the best energy source we make bombs out of, IOW our best Nukey bombs.

Because, unlike you dolts, we’d rather be dead than be slaves.

OK, I know this approach won’t work either (but it was kinda fun thinking about it).

So what will work with Pukin? The US populous could tell him to STFU, but he dosent have to listen.

I have the answer!! Our own current president grows brass stuff, and tells Pukin to STFU! and threatens to allow all American farmers to grow, and sell, without US government regulation, as much as they can, to the highest bidder.

“They” may have oil - We got food.

Actually, that would work, of course it’s a pipe dream. That any American has to listen to the likes of Vulky Pukey bashing the US government makes me ill.
That’s the job of ‘We The People’.

Says the man whose economy is 0.0000000000001% as big as that of the United States. (Okay, I may be giving him too much credit.)

I know I'd rather have food. We need to stop giving it away to nations unfriendly to us, and or charge them highest dollar for our food. By the way, Putin isn't so bad; he's said kinder things about the U.S.A. than Obama.

Putin never officially left the Communist Party of the Soviet Union or the KPRF, its successor party.

What have I been saying (to be fair I know that 99.9% of everyone on this thread knows this too...)? At least McCain knew it (Thompson, too). Heck, Palin probably heard the gossip across the water from Russia! ;)

You know what... Putin can kiss my grits (As Flo would say). It wouldn’t be lady-like or family friendly if I typed what I feel like saying right now...

If Putin thinks that his Comrades Obama, and Chavez are going to get away with stealing this election & our country, and that Russia can proceed in putting back together their “Union” as Putin said he wanted to do, then they’ve got another thing coming...

If there’s one thing American knows how to do it’s kick some butt when the time comes, and if Russia is going to start playing games — aw, heck, they’ve ALREADY been playing games. They need to stop, and Europe needs to tell them so as well.

No, he’s the one who taught Chavez... And they’re working with Iran, which means they are also funding the terrorists killing our soldiers already, and they are allied with China who is poisoning people with their products, and China, and Russia, and Putin’s comrade Soros and the other Socialist and Communist, and Islamo-Fascist terrorists, and Mullahs and others around the world think that we are “damaged” and they are going to go for the jugular.

We’d better be prepared, and Europe, and Israel better be ready, too.
