Obama camp downplays payments to ACORN
Washington Times ^ | Friday, October 10, 2008 | S.A. Miller

Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama's campaign distanced itself Thursday from its $800,000 payment linked to the liberal ACORN organization, which is under investigation in several states where it is suspected of filing fraudulent voter registrations.

Federal Election Commission reports show ACORN-affiliated Citizens Services Inc. got $832,598 from the Obama campaign for get-out-the-vote work during the primaries. But those payments stopped in May and the Obama campaign says they should not be an election issue.

"This is going to be an historic election with unprecedented voter participation, and we are committed to protecting the integrity of the voting process," Obama spokesman Nick Shapiro said. "We support local officials in their efforts to investigate any fraudulent behavior and the full prosecution of any illegal activities."

Still, the contributions to Citizens Services draw the Obama campaign closer to the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN, and the growing voter-fraud scandal that this week spread to the battleground state of Ohio.

The elections board in Cuyahoga County, which includes Cleveland, is reviewing about 65,000 voter cards submitted by ACORN after flagging 50 cards filled out for duplicate names, fictitious addresses, noncitizens and recycled names and addresses of currently registered voters, said board spokesman Mike West.

this could have legs. I had no idea that ACORN was actually on the Obama payroll for services.

There’s a nugget in the back of people’s minds that Obama is a huge risk to elect as President.

All of these shady associations and connections have to be brought out. One scandal after another, over and over until election day.

Make the American people so uneasy to vote for the guy that they either stay home or vote McCain.

If the AA community leaders (aka race hustlers) start to feel Obama may be going down, they will turn on him subtly and behind the scenes to help depress turnout so they can keep their race based scams going. In fact, they can now say how racist the American public REALLY is when they blew their chance to vote for a Kenyan. I mean African American.

So I guess McCain/Palin should not talk about this at campaign stops. Riiiight.

Let’s see if I understand this.

Obama pays ACORN to get out the vote. And ACORN commits voter fraud and Obama won’t show his birth cert to prove he isn’t a fraud out to get votes.

If paying an organisation that is infamous for voter registration fraud with the express purpose of registering voters is not a campaign issue, then I don't know what is. I have seen some lying scumbags in my life, but this dude is close to being their king.

Some intelligent and financially comfortable person needs to buy some prime time TV and eductae the American people on what Obama - and ACORN - really represent and how they are inextricably linked to each other.

And the dozens of other issues that would absolutely REPULSE real Americans.

And Obama left his "church" back in March. So that's not an issue, too, right?

Wrong. Does the Obama campaign really think that mere passage of time equates vindication from dirty associations and deeds? Or do they just think the voting populace is dumb enough to buy that?

McCain...tie this to him in the debate on Wednesday...

Democrat Election Strategy
1. Grab as much illicit money as you can early in the campaign
2. Use that pile of money to build a solid lead
3. Use your leading poll numbers to raise 10x to 100x the illicit amount
4. Say the early illicit money is old news, shouldn’t be a campaign issue, it’s just a distraction
5. If necessary, make a non-apology apology and pay back the early illicit money
6. Now that you are a start and the nominee, go to #1 and repeat

How convenient to distance themselves now. It was only $800,000. /s

He is pathetic... he is now on his 4th story about Ayers! Lying just is so natural to Barack Hussein Obama.

Government money, shakedown of banks money, Obama money. And it pays its people, they aren't "volunteers" they are paid employees. And it pays them per registration card, without looking too closely. It is organized paid fraud. Then on election day, Dem operatives vote for the fake people they've signed up.

Commies are scum. Utter scum.
