This isn’t so bad now that I think about it. The MSM will ballyhoo it, but a lot of people who are hearing about it will want to know more, and then they will discover that it all started with a psycho ex-in-law who threatened her family, and Todd doing what any husband would do, etc., and that gets her empathy from Mr. and Mrs. America.

Much ado about nothing... and the Legislature's finding violates the separation of powers doctrine. A Governor can fire an appointee for ANY reason - whether or not its justified.

An army of Socialist attorneys sent to Alaska bent on her total destruction and this is the best they can do.

And any voter who doesn't see that is a total idiot. Talk about an obvious hit job. Sheesh.

“The investigative report concludes that a family grudge wasn’t the sole reason for firing Public Safety Commissioner Walter Monegan”

This is crap. If it wasn't the sole reason, then it wasn't the reason at all. In other words, if she asked him to leave his position for other professional reasons, then who is to say how much weight the family issue had verses the insubordination issues? It's like trying to read someone's heart and mind. She did nothing illegal, and IMO didn't abuse her power because her authority as GOV allows her to get rid of people if she chooses.

In other words when she fired him for legitimate reasons she also had bad thoughts that would have been an improper reason for firing him.

No harm no foul.

Because of their obvious-to-everyone assault on Palin the media is now powerless to make outrageous claims stick....everyone sees it as just more of the same unfair piling on and lies.

You are absolutely correct.

PERFECT analysis on this issue. They are policing her THOUGHTS in this report. Sure she had real reasons to fire him or ask for his resignation, but she also had other reasons...and well...bad girl.
Stupid.

Two things come immediately to mind. First the report includes as evidence of her violation of Alaska ethics law actions she took before she was governor. Secondly the report never does state just how she benefited or her family benefited from her actions or how her actions were actually detrimental to Wooten. Calling up and requesting status reports and saying why you think someone is unfit to serve is sure as hell not the same as trying to illegally or unethically influence a course of action. No one said that they made a finding because they feared retribution by Palin or because they had been promised compensation for doing so. So where the hell is this so called violation?

Also what the heck does a divorce judge’s snarky remark about Palin’s sister’s earning capacity and Wooten’s possible job loss have to do with anything at all. That should be stricken from the record as irrelevant. I mean is Branchflower claiming this is proof that Palin was using her office to get Wooten fired?

The whole thing is major BS and I hope Palin strongly rebukes the findings.

OMG! Have you seen the clip of Faricon calling Oboma the Muslim Messiah? When the Messiah speaks, the world will listen? It's devastating!

O'Reilly played it on The Factor.

Politic hit piece. This is really shameful. I read through the deposition submitted by the Palins' attorney. They had a totally clear cut case for firing Monegan. Not only that, but they had a legitimate cause for firing that crazy trooper. It's outrageous that this whole thing even got this far. I'd like to know what Alaskans think of this because from where I'm sitting, it looks like a political circus designed to make an affective and ethical governor look bad.

I applaud someone who would want a trooper who ABUSED his power when he tasered a 10 YO child to be fired. I think most Americans, especially mothers, would side with Palin.

Oh, the Ap's "Science Panel" took time off ruling that Global Warming is a Manmade Crisis to put on robes and wigs and informs us that Palin abused her authority as governor.

Do the math.

The media tells us how unpopular President Bush (30%-35%) is, though when you compare his ratings to those of congress (12%), you could say that he is WILDLY popular by comparison. Now, if you took the ratings of congress and compared those to the ratings of the drive by media (public belief that the media is unbiased is in the single digits), CONGRESS is wildly popular by comparison.

I think it’s very naive to dismiss this report and how it’s being reported by the MSM. By any objective standard, the report is incredibly damaging, regardless of the conclusion that no laws were broken. It is irrelevant what her own supporters think; there’s no question that we can see the very rational basis upon which the Palins wanted Wooten fired and the very partisan nature of the report. That said, the report unequivocally states that Sarah Palin is in violation of Alaska’s ethics law by allowing a personal issue to interfere in her duties. Rationalizing that by reference to legalese is not going to work, nor is whining about the fact that Obama and his cronies get a free pass on their countless ethical defaults. It doesn’t matter—nothing we think or say matters. This blog, at best, represents a miniscule portion of the electorate who get 99% of their news from the big three and CNN and, if they can read, AP. It’s over—face facts and start stocking ammunition.

Again, it is irrelevant what her own supporters (us) think; the only thing that matters is what the undecideds think and because this will get 10,000 times the coverage of any legitimate critique of Obama (the story already has over 3,000 headlines in Google, nearly 5x as many as the Obama/Acorn connection) means that the election is effectively over.

Worse than this, we now have over 2,000 MSM reports on the numbskulls who were yelling for Obama to be “killed” during McCain rallies, and there isn’t a snowball’s chance in Hell that McCain can win now. The hotheads have completely flushed the undecided/fence-sitters down the toilet. There is absolutely no way for McCain/Palin to win this election now, even if he gets 100% of the conservative vote.
