Wasn’t there a time early on when only those who owned land and had a stake in the real estate of the country were allowed to vote?

Well, for one thing, if you are sending kids to college make sure you look at the profs there and the curriculum being taught. Look for clubs that allow all points of view. That may be a safer area. And in the lower grades, high school, primary et al, make sure you do the same thing. Challenge the School boards. Challenge the teacher unions which under the NEA lead, is simply a lobbying group for Dems. Make sure you know what history and social science as well as English literature classes are not infected by Zinn histories and other leftist rags with socialists leading the way. Most so called intellectual elitist orgs. like Phi Beta Kappa are all lefty orgs. Like the English Teachers’ Assocs. What ever the name would be in your state. Whenever you see the word progressive, investigate it. Challenge them . It is the only way. Write letters to the ed. of home town papers when you hear or see brainwashing occur.

Obamas’ Tax Returns Show Donation Spike
By LESLIE WAYNE

Senator Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle, sharply increased their charitable donations as Mr. Obama began to run for president and the family’s income increased from book sales, according to tax returns that the couple released on Tuesday.

Some of the largest donations went to the Trinity United Church of Christ, whose pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr., has been in the news for inflammatory messages in his sermons, causing Mr. Obama to distance himself from Mr. Wright, his former spiritual mentor.

All told, the couple gave $27,500 to the church in 2005 and 2006.

Although the campaign has not released the couple’s 2007 return, it has said the Obamas gave $240,000 to charity in 2007. This compares with charitable donations as low as $1,050 a few years ago.

The information is from seven years of returns released on Tuesday. In general, the returns show a couple whose income rose sharply as Mr. Obama left the Illinois legislature and his teaching position at the University of Chicago law school for the Senate.

The bulk of that increased income was from royalties from Mr. Obama’s books, including $1.2 million earned in 2005 from the re-release of “Dreams From My Father” and $551,000 in 2006 from “The Audacity of Hope.”

In 2004, before going to the Senate, the Obamas reported $207,647 in taxable income. That compared with an overall taxable income of $1.6 million in 2005 and $983,826 in 2006. As a United States senator, Mr. Obama earned $157,082 in 2006.

The vast majority of conservatives are white.

And the other side believes they are racists and want to lynch people!

Their arguments hold no credibility when at the same time they can justify 4,000 unborn Americans (most of them black) getting something 10x worse than a lynching every day: abortion.

Socialism has a certain quality that relieves people of all that burdensome thinking.

1. From bondage to spiritual faith;
2. From spiritual faith to great courage;
3. From courage to liberty;
4, From liberty to abundance;
5. From abundance to complacency;
6. From complacency to apathy;
7. From apathy to dependence;
8. From dependence back into bondage.

The problem is half of Americans think socialism sounds like a good thing.

Right, and every last one of them thinks that when Obama says 'spread the wealth around', that they'll be on the receiving end of the sharing and spreading. Few want to believe they will be on the sharing end, yet most of us will, regardless what he says. I can't believe the folks who seem to think socialism (at least in part) is good, that it 'just wasn't done right', even when presented with the obvious failures of socialism around the world in recent decades.
