McCain does not want or need an Endorsement from Colin. You gotta be kidding. While a Powell endorsement of Obama is likely to be a non-event (dog bites man story), such an endorsement of McCain would be huge.

I respect Powell, but this is nothing but identity poltics. If Obama were not black, Powell would never endorse him.
Period.

This is all speculation. It wouldn’t surprise me if he endorsed Obama, but we really don’t know until he says something. All this is is media rumor-mongering.

Powell was fired by GWB!
McCain does not need that smell around him.
Powell is damaged goods.
McCain needs to seek the endorsement or Rummy!

I agree with Christopher Hitchens who said Powell is the most over-rated person in history.

Powell was always a RINO at best. He was a Republican by convenience only. His sympathies have always been mildly liberal, and now that he’s been retired for quite a while, my guess is that he is now moderately liberal or worse. His racism is about to show on Meet the Press. His Black racism. Doing exactly what all the Blacks squawk about, voting based on someone’s race alone. Ok, what’s good for the goose is good for the gander. Don’t be surprised Obama/Powell/Biden when Pennsylvania goes for whitey John McCain. What goes around comes around.

If he endorses Obama then he is back in play as a powerful public figure.
If he endorses McCain then he slides off into his obscure retirement.

I’m gonna wait until Powell speaks before passing judgment on what he might do. He contributed $2,300 to McCain’s campaign, and he has previously said Obama is not qualified to be POTUS. So this could be some political ploy to improve his ratings, whereby he then endorses McCain in front of a larger audience. I really don’t know, but that makes as much or more sense as some media rumors.

no he’ll look like just another black person for Obama and that will be bad for powell. Powell had respect because he seemed to transcend race.

I wonder how Powell would enjoy serving under a snot-nosed, liberal, cut-defense-spending by 30%, elitist, rich kid?

Why shoudn’t Powell support Osama. After all The Anointed One once courageously considered joining the Army as a “yute” whereas McCain only served as a Navy officer for....how many years?
To: Publius804
It won’t have any effect. Colin has been out of the public eye for too long.
To: trumandogz
Therefore, his endorsement of Obama is a negative factor for the The One.You are so wrong. Non-thinking people will only see the color brown and yell "Hurrah!".

Sources close to the retired four-star general and American icon cautioned that Powell's support for Obama... Maybe the "Another African American for Obama" bumper sticker on Powell's car was the dead give-a-way.

I’m sick of RINO’s and if Powell does endorse the communist for President, I will have no respect left for him. I will see it as a “black” thing totally as far as I go. However, I’ll wait and see, but it won’t cut any ice with me either way anyway.
