If Obama Wins, Damage Likely to Be Permanent
Right Wing News ^ | October 17, 2008 | Van Helsing

Posted on 10/17/2008 2:32:46 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

So what if Obama is elected? After four years, Americans will realize they've been sold a bill of goods by the left-wing media, and vote him back out again. Then we can live happily ever after. Right?

Wrong. Four years is more than enough time to inflict permanent damage on this country, given the large majorities the moonbat messiah is likely to have in both houses of Congress. The Wall Street Journal warns that if Dems get BHO in the White House and a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate, we will enter "a period of unchecked left-wing ascendancy."

Among the consequences:

Socialized medicine. This gargantuan entitlement would be extremely difficult to repeal, and would inevitably lead to low-quality, rationed healthcare in the short term, national bankruptcy in the long term.

Hostile business climate. Nancy Pelosi says the government has "harsh decisions" to make regarding assigning blame and doling out punishment for the financial panic. The ball and chain Sarbanes-Oxley put on American business will feel like a sweatband compared to the shackles coming next. The first victims will be the financial, energy, telecom, biotech, and pharmaceutical industries. Needless to say, this will not shorten the economic downturn. Fortunately for Democrats, the worse the economy, the more cover they have to inflict socialism, making it worst still. This vicious spiral will not stop until communist America finds itself rooting through Dumpsters for food.

Union supremacy. Unions are a cancer that have all but killed the American auto industry. Dems want to do away with secret ballot elections so that intimidation tactics can be used to make them vastly more powerful. The Orwellian "Employee Free Choice Act" — supported by Obama — entails forcing businesses to recognize a union even where the majority of workers don't want to unionize.

Taxes. Obviously an economic slowdown is not a good time to raise taxes. Yet Obama has made it clear he will jack taxes through the ceiling. Supposedly this will only affect "the rich." Anyone with even a rudimentary understanding of economics knows that it will hurt us all by crippling the economy.

Ecolunacy. Cap and trade schemes based on the fictional global warming crisis would make a recession permanent by inflicting punitive taxation on all economically productive activity. I hope the polar bears appreciate it.

Voting rights. Election-day voter registration is already leading to chaos in Ohio. This would likely go national, as anything that facilitates voter fraud helps Democrats, whose appeal is to moral degenerates who don't feel they should have to earn anything, including election victories. Felons may get the right to vote nationwide — another big boon to Democrats, for obvious reasons.

Freedom of speech. Some new form of the "Fairness Doctrine" would be employed to shut up Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and anyone else who might use the airwaves to rally resistance against socialism. Next the Left would target the Internet, under the guise of "net neutrality." But don't worry, Keith Olbermann will still to be around to keep you informed.

Special interests. It will be Christmas every day for teachers unions and trial lawyers. There are limits to how much damage termites can do to a structure before it is no longer sound.

Terrorism. Look for O.J. Simpson–style civil courts for every last foreign terrorist who comes into custody. Hamas has its reasons for endorsing Obama.

As the WSJ concludes:

In both 1933 and 1965, liberal majorities imposed vast expansions of government that have never been repealed, and the current financial panic may give today's left another pretext to return to those heydays of welfare-state liberalism. Americans voting for "change" should know they may get far more than they ever imagined. If the media gets its way next month, moonbattery may corrode America past the point of no return.

Of the MOST consequence will be at least one, quite likely 2, Supreme Court appointments. Ginsberg is practically on life-support waiting for the next election as it is. If Obama gets to nominate justices with a majority Senate, the laws in this country will be worthless. And you know they’ll pick someone who’s barely out of diapers so they’ll be on the court for many many years.

The Wall Street Journal warns that if Dems get BHO in the White House and a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate, we will enter "a period of unchecked left-wing ascendancy."

Do you really think that McCain will resist, especially on issues like bailouts, amnesties, and climate change...you know, the issues on which he agrees with the Democrats? And, on other issues, McCain has not only touted his "bipartisan" record of bending over to please the Democrats but even outright shown a willingness to bend over even more (appointing Al Gore to his Cabinet, praising Cuomo and Hillary, praising Obama).

Voting for McCain is only buying time, and not that much, I'm afraid. And the U.S. will still take "permanent" damage that is permanent to the extent that the electorate is unwilling to forcibly repeal it...and reject the anti-American policies that the establishment in both major political parties is trying to impose on them.

I own a snow plow.

My neighbbor has a driveway full of snow.

He offers me money to plow it out.

Can I do it for him, for cash, without government involvement?

Do I need a license, tax forms, some sort of registration?

Explain why you believe you live in a free country. This is an essay question, without a correct answer.

If Obama makes the headway in destruction of our government that he has with his ACORN fraud, lawsuits, and truth squads in the last month, I wouldn’t count on a 2 party system in 2 years. With control of the full Congress and no ability to filibuster, it could take only months to destroy the Constitution and have a communist rule here.

We aren’t talking about typical, greedy politicians here— most of these people are long time members of the communist party and have waited 30 or 40 years for this. Ayers will looked like a benevolent guy compared to what we will see.

BE VERY AFRAID if Obama wins!

Actually you don't realize what long term damage can be caused by allowing someone like Obama and his ilk access to federal bureaucratic appointments. They will set the policy agendas and the hiring guidelines for their respective agencies. In four years they feather their nests and hire a lot of people just like them, who are there doing damage for the next 25 years. Yes these appointed clowns can be thrown out the next presidential cycle they have already injected their “poison” into the system, so the damage is done. Shall we also mention the federal judge-ships?
To scary to contemplate, Ginsburg could end up being the “moderate” if not the “conservative” voice of the Supreme Court.

On my way in a few minutes to buy a gun.

I’m afraid after 2 years there will be no conservatives left to run for office. What will happen is this country will be destroyed and then it’s all over with. I hope I’m pleasantly surprised on election day.

On the other hand, I’ll still need that gun. If he wins or loses there will be riots.

‘Can I do it for him, for cash, ‘

Yes, but the funds are taxable. It is income

If you do it for others and are in the business, you must comply with local laws regarding the licensing of businesses.

If you don’t include the funds in reported income or get the permits, you are operatingin the underground economy

I hope somebody has some sort of a backup plan for this one. My own estimate is that an Oinkbama presidency would not last four years and would end in less than that under unusual and/or extraordinary circumstances. It may really be time someone started talking about rational ways to split the country up without a second civil war.

Governor Palin is a RINO?

I haven't completely made up my mind about her yet. Please pardon my excessive skepticism due to the infestation of RINOs and Rat enablers present within the Republican Pary.

Clue: That’s what this IS ALL ABOUT!

Palin will have to fight an uphill battle once McCain gets in and mucks things up with amnesty, bailouts, and carbon taxes...a milder (but still deadly) form of what the Democrats have in store for us.

Big Hint: all those amnestied illegals are probably not going to vote for a Republican, much less a conservative.

More than likely, would be the better way to put it. The leftist radicals in Washington will make free elections a thing of the past by institutionalizing fraud. ACORN will supervise all elections. They will effectively destroy political free speech by using the fairness doctrine and hate speech laws to silence political enemies. If Obama wins and Democrats get a super majority, they will move fast to bring this country to its knees. No one will be able to stop them.

The ignorance, or just plain laziness in wanting to discover the truth, is going to destroy the nation.

Stevens (born 1920) and Ginsburg (born 1933) are the oldest—if Obama gets to replace them, the balance doesn’t change, but the liberal hold on those seats is extended for 20-30 years at least. The next oldest are Scalia and Kennedy, both born in 1936, followed by Breyer (1938) and Souter (1939). Scalia has to stay healthy. Kennedy is a “moderate” but better than anyone Obama would pick to replace him.

It takes a majority in the US house, the president, and 55-60 in the senate to pass something.

We will not have that in the near future. It is a lot easier to stop something than change it.

Oh, permits - I negected to address that.

See, to get a “permit”, what do you need to do? Is it worth your neighbor’s $20?

Or should you just say the heck with this, the barriers to doing business in this country make it not worth it?

For instance, to make that $20, you need commercial tags, commercial insurance, and a commercial driver’s license.

You see? A soviet socialist republick, under any other name... still smells like a gulag.

If Senator Obama wins the presidency he will almost certainly have a majority of democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives (as it is now), and a 60 seat majority (filibuster proof) in the U.S. Senate. That means that the democrats would be able to pass just about ANYTHING their little hearts desire and "president" Obama would sign it into law. You don't see the danger in that?!

It never ceases to amaze how many people there are who think that “law” enacted by a man with hatred for America and an arrogant contempt for the rule of law will be respected and tolerated just as if it were good.

Try to imagine such a person getting his hands on the Executive Order. Try to even imagine the un-holy over reach that will occur in the first 2 or 4 weeks of his presidency. An Obama presidency will fail spectacularly out of the gate, he'll scare even a few dems witless. He'll make Carter's the SECOND worst presidency in history....and he'll do it in WAAAAAAYYYYY less than 4 years.

Sadly, you are probably true, and we have horrible options this year. If McCain wins, the feeling around here will go from ebullient, unrestrained glee to shocked disgust very soon, IMHO, as he starts to announce his cabinet full of mods, libs, Dems (and maybe a few token conservatives) in December and January. All pressure known to man will have to be put on that guy from Conservative Quarters if he is sworn in. You can count on me. With a Democrat Congress it will be really uphill, and then, on the other hand, with Obama and Democrat Congress, well, might as well consider Easter Island, the Maldives or the Galapagos.

I didn’t realize it was you. Note also I stipulated that if you do it for others you are in business.

As a practical reality it doesn’t really matter to toe the legal line umless it keeps you awake at night. There are multitudes who give the law the finger and ply a special skill underground.

I once worked for a physician who was a good customer. He wouldn’t pay his bill. I called him and he said he was sorry, I should just drop by his office and ask Sarah his receptionist for the money. I did just that and she dug around in a cigar box and paid about half the bill. It was all that was in the box.

I called him and asked why she didn’t write me a check and pay it all..... The money in the box was from cash paying patients and I came around late in the day.

True story
