1- Who made this estimate? The media seems to blindly accept the Obama crowd “estimates”, while questioning Palin’s.

2- I’ve said this on threads where Freepers tout Palin’s crowd size as evidence that McCain will win... Crowd size does not equate to election results. People don’t realize or remember that Walter Mondale would regularly draw epic sized crowds in the final weeks of his doomed campaign against Reagan. He even drew a crowd of over 100,000 in the final weekend.

When Obama wants large crowds he has entertainment. The crowds come out for that because it’s free. He then thinks they love him. Take away the entertainment and they won’t come.

That’s a large crowd and it wouldn’t surprise me that Obama can bring that many (imagine if he were to hold a rally in Chicago). But we have to remember Obama broke his pledge on campaign finance and is outspending McCain 4 to 1 and is set to spend a record amount.

But, McCain and the RNC still haven’t unleashed their barrage yet. If after that 4 to 1 burn rate Obama is still within 5 points I think McCain can alter the Obama’s message.

East St Louis is just across the river...like 2mins away....it’s in St Clair County, Il a lib haven....I was down in that area last weekend...nothing but Obama signs...the farther north I drove in ILI saw more Mac signs....

No surprise Obama can draw a big crowd in our larger cities. That’s where his most concentrated support is. He can continue to draw such crowds if he wants to spend his final days campaigning in the inner cities.
