Obama’s Ad Effort Swamps McCain and Nears Record
New York Times ^ | Oct 17, 2008 | JIM RUTENBERG

PHILADELPHIA — Senator Barack Obama is days away from breaking the advertising spending record set by President Bush in the general election four years ago, having unleashed an advertising campaign of a scale and complexity unrivaled in the television era.

With advertisements running repeatedly day and night, on local stations and on the major broadcast networks, on niche cable networks and even on video games and his own dedicated satellite channels, Mr. Obama is now outadvertising Senator John McCain nationwide by a ratio of at least four to one, according to CMAG, a service that monitors political advertising. That difference is even larger in several closely contested states.

Go to the link and see "Goofy".

New York Times endorsed BHMO so what would anyone expect from that rag.

What we really need is 1 million Repubs writing checks or credit cards for $100 this weekend and it may happen.

Everybody - Volunteer & Donate.

Make sure we are all at local McCain HQ helping out with GOTV the weekend before the election.

“why vote for a semi-Dem when you can vote for a full pledged Dem....?”

Don’t you mean “why vote for a semi-Dem when you can vote for an America hating,Terrorist loving racist who wants to spread your wealth around...?”

No Thanks! I will vote McCain/Palin.

Soros, Buffet, probably saudies. We’re talking a couple of hundred million here. They must be funneling it through small donors. The pictures of the St. Louis rally are reminiscent of the Haj pilgrimige. Looks like he deliberately staged the setting there for effect to get the subliminal word out to the muslim world.

Obama will win in a landslide...why vote for a semi-Dem when you can vote for a full pledged Dem....

So you're going to be a purist, I take it, and either vote vote for the pure Dem, Obama, or not vote at all because the guy you wanted didn't get nominated. Either way you through your weight toward the absolute worst persidential candidate in history. Simply pathetic.

“People got sick of the constant ads.”

Yep, for every action there is a reaction.

The biggest irony is that the Republicans have the reputation as the "big money" party, whereas the Democrats are supposed to be the party of "the people." 0bama showed his true colors when he changed his tune on sticking to public campaign funding.

When that was originally his stance, he assumed that the Republicans would have lots more donated money than he. As soon as it became clear he was raking in way more dinero, he declared public financing to be "broken" and declined to use it.

0bama has proven, time after time, that he will change his views in an instant if it appears it will be of greater benefit to HIM. He is an uber-politician.

I am praying that people will see through this over-saturation in every media format, of having 0bama shoved down their throats. I liken it to Rachael Ray. I used to love her when she was an average Jane with enthusiasm for life and forcooking.

Now she has a talk show, a magazine, a travel show, cookware, cutlery, a food line, and God only knows what else. I can no longer stomach the woman. Enough is enough. If people aren't sick of the over-marketing of Big Brutha' Barack 0bama by now, they should be.

I think today, McCain should ask the networks for a half hour of air time to respond to Senator Government’s lies. When they refuse, McCain can start an add campaign, say in stump speeches that the left is denying him free speech and all that stuff. So by the time obama makes his address, it won’t matter what he says. The idea will already be out their that’s it’s McCain the underdog against the left wing establishment.

This is not from a purist. He is hoping some of us are. Outvoting the drones will win the election. This fetish some have with the polls is a waste of time. O over polled in the primaries , he still does. Mac has a ton of money to spend. O has out spent him 2 or 3 to 1 . Has he closed the deal ? No. Surge works .

I can’t speak for anyone else, but I know when I see a candidate’s political advertisements CONSTANTLY - like I’m seeing and hearing Obama’s right now - I get a knee-jerk reaction of irritation! It’s like I used to like Rachel Ray & then I kept seeing her everywhere, now I can’t stand to watch her. Even candidates that I like - make me mad at them when they pester me too much with ads. I don’t think this is going to get him that many more votes.

If 0bie's gonna win in a landslide, how do you explain the polls?

Vote stealing is the only way.
