Sarah Palin's visit to "Saturday Night Live" drew the show's highest overnight rating in 14 years.
Last night's telecast, hosted by Josh Brolin and featuring musical guest Adele, averaged a 10.7 rating and 24 share in 56 metered markets, according to Nielsen Media Research. That's the highest overnight 'SNL' average since a 1994 episode that was hosted by Nancy Kerrigan and featured musical guest Aretha Franklin.
Saturday's program also included appearances by Alec Baldwin, Mark Wahlberg, Oliver Stone and -- once again reprising her role as Palin -- Tina Fey. But it was the much-anticipated visit by the real Alaska governor that gave the show its biggest overnight rating in more than a decade. The numbers also make "SNL" the third-highest-rated show of last week, after ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" and CBS' "CSI."
'SNL' has successfully capitalized on viewer interest in the election this season. The veteran sketch comedy show's ratings are running 76% higher than during the opening weeks last fall.

Who knew there were that many Josh Brolin fans?
roses, relax a little. She did very well, and rose well above where SNL is. She absolutely shined. She showed humor, guts and grace.
I’ll bet that she persuaded more than a few viewers to take a second look at a party they had prejudged.
I wouldnt worry about it. She stepped up to the challenge with grace, style, intelligence and elegance. She did great.”

Yes she did....but I wish she hadn’t graced such a common vulgar program with her presence. SNL is trash.
You obviously didn’t see the show. She was good, and Amy Pohler was GREAT, doing a hilarious pro-Palin rap song.
The Moose was fantastic. That rap song was fantastic! They put all of Palin’s big issues in that one song. Guns. Oil drilling. Todd. Eskimos. Ayers.
Along with millions and millions of others who got to see Republicans and President Bush, ridiculed, humiliated and mocked by Democrats.
Wow, a real vote generator to be sure.
I didn’t see the show. I have the Palin segments of the show. I was commenting on the Palin segments.
True, but if we’re going to overcome ACORN’s registration fraud, having the middle and even some not-hard-left with a favorable impression may pay off in the voting booth.
Watching the replay, I realize that Alec Baldwin appeared to be reading his FEW lines from a cue card — out of sight. He wasn’t looking directly at her and I thought it looked funny. I thought he was the experienced actor - one to whom lines would come easily and be easy to remember.
Sarah, the acting novice just spoke out very naturally. No problem. And SHE was the one in enemy territory!!
