If true, this first dog would have gone on 46,282,000 walks by now.

Yup. The original pariah. And they’re darn good dogs too. Those look like young pups in your pic. Are they yours?

From a wolf to....that! A dangerous predator to a lovable fuzzball. All through the power of selection of genetic variation. Amazing.

Man’s true friend.

Very true - MAN'S best friend. The following is an email that I received earlier today:

Give this a try.

A dog is truly a man's best friend.

If you don't believe it, just try this experiment.

Put your dog and your wife in the trunk of your car for an hour.

When you open the trunk, which one is really happy to see you?

That is one cute pup. Those eyes are so expressive. “I didn’t do anything wrong. Really!”

That cute puppy is sneaky. Those eyes are saying “I bet you don’t know what I just did to your favorite necktie!”

Just think of the lifetime cost of the dog food, alone.

They are sometimes referred to as The American Dingo. They are the same species as far as I know. They are fine hunting (natural pointers) and watch dogs. They pretty much suck at retrievals, however. One of a litter I sold off went to Connecticut to become an agility competition dog. They train well, but are very independent and sometimes just plain strange. One thing for sure is they are WILD animals.

No I don't have any. I do have a couple of black mouth and leopard curs.

I have no doubt that they were influenced by the Carolinas.

There are a lot of strays and pound puppies near the Savannah River Valley that look suspiciously like Carolina's. But then again, ALL dogs look like Carolina's a little bit.

An international team of scientists has just identified what they believe is the world's first known dog, which was a large and toothy canine that lived 31,700 years ago and subsisted on a diet of horse, musk ox and reindeer, according to a new study.

Clifford!

Hm...surely there is a better way to prove that than by torturing both.

I worry about you :)
