Unlike their Ohio sample (+14 dem), this Missouri sample was more realistic.

Without “questionable” voting in KC and St. Louis, Obama will not win Missouri.

In the Springfield area, I’ve seen four Obama signs in the past few weeks.

Four.

I’m sure there are more in the downtown area. The McCain Palin signs are up and the stickers are coming out.

Obama is advertising NON-STOP, even on Rush, Boortz and Hannity.

The 2004 CNN exit poll shows Missouri as 36% GOP, 35% Dem, 29% Indie.

I've heard through the grapevine that at least one Pubbie who was supposed to work on Missouri has been reassigned to efforts in Iowa.

No. There's been no mention of that anywhere on this forum.

Well this is one more bit of good news. Looks like the battlegrounds states are bouncing back to the good guys, if very slowly. Except for that Ras. poll of VA with the bad guys up 10. That seems unrealistic though.

So we’ve got FL, OH, CO, and MO trending back towards McCain-Palin. Dems must be a little panicked now. And this is despite their gargantuan, unfair spending edge.

That leads me to believe McCain is actually ahead. The reason for the Obama lead in nationwide polls is oversampling Democrats and playing fast and lost with weighing demographics. In no honest poll is Obama actually ahead. But don't wait for the MSM/Drivebys to report that particular piece of information.

That goes along with another week of making calls into Iowa which is in our region.

I have a neighbor a few houses down who is running for Circuit court clerk as a Democrat. He has a sign up for Jay Nixon and a few other Democrats, but nothing for Obama.

I think Democrat labelling western Pennsylvannia as racist will help McCain get Penn

Bingo! I just received word from a good friend with ties into NC that NC is safe and Hillary supporters are making the difference in getting a lot of help in the state.

This polling is not taking disgruntled Hillary supporters in the equation either. They are helping in PA as well to give us more of a ground game.

Saw lots of new, huge McCain/Palin signs on 60 highway today.

For weeks, JayHamilton on Fr has been saying that McCain will take PA! Since both campaigns have been there frequently, I think PA is much closer than the polls say.

Not true. Just last week there was a report that Obama’s internals had him up only 2 pts in PA and this was confirmed as probable according to a FReeper familiar with the inside of the McCain campaign. McCain has three rallies there tomorrow, and Cindy and Rudy Giuliani also have two events.

How many points did Bush carry MO by in 2004?

The 2004 CNN exit poll shows Missouri as 36% GOP, 35% Dem, 29% Indie.

In Missouri, the Indies voted for Bush 52-46, which pretty muched matched his 53-46 win over Kerry in 2004 in that state. For what it's worth, in 2004 in Missouri, 89% of the voters were white, as opposed to 77% nationally.

MO must be close right now because McCain is campaigning there this week. But it is a state where the demographics still strongly favor McCain (including especially the one I just mentioned -- white voters).

As for moving people to Iowa, I read somewhere that according to Rick Davis, Iowa is currently within the margin of error. This would be pretty remarkable if true given McCain's oppositon to ethanol subsidies (which is probably hurting him more in Iowa than any other Bush state from 2004).

If the election is over, then why isn't Obama up by double digits? If he's not up by double digits leading into the last week before the election, he's in big, big, big trouble. Most national polls have him up only by the margin of error or slightly outside of it.

Win Missouri = Win the White House

The only exception was 1956, I have no idea how Stevenson carried Missouri that year and still lost in the general.

Norman, if you can find me two FReepers who have been promoting McCain’s chance in PA more than me, I’ll buy you a beer.
