Vietnamese Americans = President McCAIN /FREEDOM Lost = FREEDOM Cherished

NEVER FORGET

.

After a long and serious thought, One Viet decided to endorse Senator John McCain for President.  We Vietnamese always voted for the person and not voted for anyone because some political party was telling us who we should vote for.

We all know the choices by now and, that said, we Vietnamese do believe that the process of selecting the President of the United of America is deeply flawed.  The words 'money', 'special interests', and 'leftist' come to mind, among many others. Here's how we Vietnamese-Americans see it: Senator Barack Obama, you are a great public speaker.  You are also an extremely liberal and leftist Senator from the State of Illinois, which has a long and rich history of political corruption of the first magnitude like ACORN.  You are indeed a child of that system.  Your mentor, Frank Marshall Davis, was a communist.  He was publicly identified as a member of the Communist Party USA.

You have finally insulted our intelligence far beyond our capacity to tolerate your insults.  It has nothing at all to do with your skin color because we are colored people just like you.  As a matter of fact, it would be so COOL to finally have a minority, an African-American for President.  What a great statement that would be to the entire world that the USA indeed is the greatest country on earth!  But, unfortunately, YOU are NOT the man for this job! Senator Barack Obama, you want us to believe that you have never heard the sermons of your own pastor, the Reverend 'God Damn America' Jeremiah Wright.  It is a matter of record that you had been going to this church for over 20 years.  It is a matter of record that you were married there by this very pastor, and that your children were baptized there.

The good Reverend saw fit to visit Khadafy in Libya with you and to give a lifetime achievement award to Louis Farrakhan, of all people.  We have all now seen excerpts of his sermons all over the airwaves by now.  And you have publicly stated that this man IS your 'spiritual mentor'.  BUT, your pastor is NOT the reason we are NOT voting for you.  His words were disturbing enough, but it is your socialist view and association with Frank Marshall Davis, a member of Communist Party USA that disturbs us the most.  And please don't tell us you attended church there and never once heard a 'discouraging word' in the 20 years you attended there.  Don't tell us, that in addition to the good reverend, that you are now not having anything to do with all those other people seen hooting and howling tirades.  Even Oprah Winfrey got disgusted and walked out.  We are no Oprah fan, but still she did the right thing.  Now YOU look us in the eyes and ask us to believe that you never heard such language in all the years you attended this church!  This is like you telling us that communist Vietnam is good for our people. Yep.  And Bill Clinton 'did not know Monica Lewinsky' either.

Yes, Senator Obama, we all have friends who have said stupid things that embarrassed us, but NOW you have asked us to believe something that is so incredibly stupid that you are telling us that we are just stupid enough to believe you.  THAT is one of the main reasons we will never vote for you.  We are deeply sorry, that in a country teeming with enormously talented African Americans who would make a good President that the American liberal media and political systems have chosen YOU.  Senator Obama, you are a pathetic and plastic excuse of an American, who will not even salute the America Flag during the Pledge of Allegiance.  God forbid you ever get near the Oval Office?

This leaves us with John McCain.

Senator John McCain, you are a flawed man.  You are old, loony, and you have a notoriously bad temper.

You even supported communist Vietnam when you hosted Phan van Khai in at Washington DC's Mayflower Hotel on June 21, 2005.  But in comparison with Barack Obama, you qualify, in our desperate opinion, to lead us for a few years until Palin becomes our President. We WANT your trembling hands on the nuclear button.  Think about it.

We have communist Vietnam, Russia, and China blustering and rattling their sabers at the USA.  We have Kim Jong IL, Chavez and Ahmadenijad all running around like lunatics, threatening America and threatening to plunge the world into nuclear Armageddon.  We want you, John McCain in the Oval Office and we want you to be really pissed off at all these other nut jobs around the planet.

Senator John McCain, once you are elected, we want you to go into the Oval Office and throw one of your perfect FITS.  Jump up and down and throw something through a plate glass window.  Rip the drapes down and foam at the mouth a bit.  And we want the whole thing on camera so that communist Vietnamese and Chinese and Ahmadenijad can see it.  We want ALL of these 'world leaders' to lay awake at night and to break out in a cold sweat every time they think of messing with the United States of America.

We want the nuclear button sitting right next to the alarm clock on your night stand every night.  We want pictures of this to be sent to Vietnam, China, Iran, Russia, Venezuela, Cuba, Libya, Syria, Pakistan, and those other idiots in the sheets, the Saudis.

On our domestic front, you did try and reach across the aisle to the opposition in a desperate effort to compromise and to get the Congress to do something.  People may not agree with your efforts, but at least you TRIED.  For all these efforts, all you got was your head in a basket.  The leftist media and liberals are ticked off at you and the conservatives are also ticked off at you.  You are just our kind of guy.

John McCain knows on a most personal level what it is to suffer horrible torture for years and to see friends die, in communist Vietnamese prisons, for their love of America.  When you ask him about it, he will tell you that what he did was 'nothing special'.  Even more incredibly, he states that ANY American who truly loves his country would do exactly the same as he did in that situation.

Most people will have a hard time believing that, but the real point is that John McCain believes that about the 'average American', and that, dear fellow Vietnamese-Americans, is why we will cast our poor ballots on Election Day for John McCain -- warts and all.

With McCain, there's more HOPE for a Free Vietnam.  God Bless America!!!

No one knows better the value of FREEDOM,

than those who have had it violently taken from them.

Esspecially when it's on the line again, this time around right here in America.

Aloha, Ronnie:

I hope to translate this into Vietnamese in order to pass along to friends.

Unless you have that already(!)

Remembering Ed Freeman this election season and the flag for which he sacrificed.

LOL! That sums up a lot FReepers.

I am going to print this and take it to my friends who sell fresh shrimp off their boats.

The Vietnamese who settled here have done very well for themselves. Every time there is scholastic achieve award at any of a dozen local high schools, chances are it is a Vietnamese kid who wins.

They have earned my respect.

An excellent and heartfelt message, and thanks for posting it. I only take issue with two sentences:

As a matter of fact, it would be so COOL to finally have a minority, an African-American for President. What a great statement that would be to the entire world that the USA indeed is the greatest country on earth!

Who cares? When are we going to get past the melanin content of one's skin, and focus on the content of their character? We all are descended from the same parents.
God is colorblind. He looks at the heart, not at the exterior.
So should we.

Well said. However, one should not think that because God is concerned with the hearts and souls of men that their experiences and circumstances, and yes, even their ‘race’ or ethnicity are meaningless. God often uses the insignificant in order to tumble or stumble the proud/strong... it seems like God appreciates irony, I mean He came here born in a manger in a stable, not a palace or anything ‘significant’ like that.

Virginia Vietnamese showed up Saturday at the McCain rally in Prince William County. I saw several veterans as well as my old friend Bich, from the Embassy. He became the head of a university in So. Vietnam during the war and had to flee on a log going down the Saigon River until picked up by a boat.

His brother was my interpreter during my trip to So. Vietnam, and their sister was killed by the Viet Minh.

A great, patriotic family and a definite plus for America.

PS: I wore a small So. Vietnamese red and yellow flag. I got a lot of greetings from the Vietnamese and American Vietnam veterans.

This is the real band of brothers.
