Lampson, Olson stake claims on Political Spectrum
Houston Chronicle (Endorses both Lampson and Obama - FlA)
by Alan Berstein
October 22, 2008
Abstract: Rascally liberal Jim Hightower, the former Texas agriculture commissioner, gets credit for the phrase, "There's nothing in the middle of the road but yellow stripes and dead armadillos." Key questions in the Houston-area race between Democratic U.S. Rep. Nick Lampson and Republican former Senate aide Pete Olson are whether Lampson has earned his middle-of-the-road stripes and whether his political career will die there Nov. 4. Lampson has tried to relieve the odd fit ever since, saying that he votes in Congress according to what he considers the wishes of his constituents, rather than any partisan agenda he may have followed as a Beaumont-based congressman from 1997 to 2005. Olson does not try to muscle Lampson out of the centrist position. Nor does he always acknowledge that Lampson is there. On some occasions Olson has tried to portray Lampson and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California as conjoined left-wing twins. Other times the challenger has said Lampson has become a moderate, but only in betrayal of his true self and his former voting record. Either way, Olson has said, the district is conservative, its congressman is not, and that needs to change. "I don't think people necessarily want someone in the middle," Olson said. "I have a fundamental set of values that people aren't going to question," he added. "Nick's values, you don't know which side of the issue he is on right now."

For a guy that claims he's a Blue Dog Democrat, Nick Lampson sure has a lot of yellow in him. - Tom "still The Hammer" DeLay, October 2008

10.23.08: Pete Olson - Illegals Immigration Reform TV Ad
- - Texas is a pro-illegals State, from Governor Rick Perry(R) on down. Houston has been an illegals "sanctuary city" since 1992. This problem continues to destroy Houston/Harris County and is out of control. Sam Houston is rolling over in his grave. FlA
Apparently you need to be reminded again. What part of I've known this guy for 14 years do you fail to comprehend ? I was there in MA for his '94 Senate race. He's a leftist who gives not two $hits about the Republican party. He's a disciple of Weld, who openly worked to eviscerate Conservatives from the GOP and to even get rid of NON-Conservative Republicans, too (key word is ANY Republican), a friend of the Clintons who was clearly an agent for the Democrats (and who predictably just came through with an endorsement for Obama, along with his Supreme Court appointee, Charles Fried). He's used his vast wealth to try to purchase an office for which he is neither qualified nor has the accomplishments (unless you considered advancing the cause of the Democrat party and Socialist/radical legislation to be a positive accomplishment). He's also used his vast wealth to buy/bribe supporters and organizations and to employ loser minions to go out and lie about his record (as you and your fellow bots have done) and misrepresent him as either honest or Conservative, of which he is neither, and to SLANDER those that speak the truth about his record, identical to Obama's stormtroopers (amazing how liberals operate exactly alike). He has covertly sought to undermine Gov. Sarah Palin's candidacy ("unqualified", "inexperienced", "extremist") after he failed to buy the VP slot in the hopes the rubes will turn to him as the "great hope" for 2012...
"You need to broaden out your concept of who your friends and your enemies are."
He is no friend to Conservatism or the GOP, he is the sworn enemy of both while trying to lie that he isn't. A user and a total 100% fraud. That's Slick Willard.
I speak the truth, you denigrate those that speak the truth against your idol. Que sera sera.
