'Joe the Plumber' Mulling Run for Congress

Joe Wurzelbacher, a.k.a. "Joe the Plumber," said Friday he may consider running for Congress in 2010, challenging longtime Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D) in the Toledo-area district.

"I'll tell you what, we'd definitely be in one heck of a fight," Wurzelbacher said during an appearance on the Laura Ingraham show Friday, "but, you know, I'd be up for it."

I hope to God that this kick starts the citizen-politician. Not the career-politician.

We could use Joe the Plumber in Congress. We could also use Jane the Hunter, Jill the Engineer, Tito the Construction Worker, and Alex the Brick Layer in Congress too.

They know what makes our country work. Not Joe the Six Term Senator.

He needs to be careful about this for now. MSM will try to get him to talk more and more about this until they have made him look like a politician rather than a citizen. (Not that he shouldn’t run.)

There was that guy too but Joe was a German Shepherd.

Joe, a trained member of the military's K9-Corp., was falsely accused of attacking his master, Sergeant Corey. Joe managed to escape before being killed and a bounty was put on his head. While Sergeant Corey tried to find him before the authorities did, Joe managed to help the people he encounterd on his travels. Although Corey always came close, he never managed to find Joe.

Musta been before your time!

I think this is a mistake, at least for now. The fact is that he has had a bigger impact already than many congressman/women ever make. By becoming one of them he is not longer unique and loses an element of credibility as a ‘normal’ person.

Probably true but Joe would have to learn to drop all the,”I mean” and “You know” from his speech. I can barely stand to listen to him because of this, it sets my teeth on edge.

It just hit me..

No matter what power the liberal media thinks they have. It is God that is in control. It is God that lifted up Sarah and now Joe for the world to see. Reguardless of what happens in the future.

With all of the trash being tossed at her and her family. Sarah still has a deep desire to serve her country. Who put this in her heart ? God. It is her calling.

For Joe to even consider a future in politics. A guy that is working long hours to feed his family. That takes a lot of guts.

Thank God there are still patriots standing at the gate. Willing to fight for what is right.

The vision of the founding fathers for the House of Representatives was the “citizen politician”. A tradesman or businessman who put down his work, served a couple years in the House, then went back to his job.

I'm with Joe. If he starts a campaign I will send him $. A citizen politician financed by interested citizens.

As much as I love Joe, I think this would be a mistake. I remember many years ago in Rhode Island, a house painter named Ed St.Germain ran for Congress on a “regular guy theme” and won. He was eaten alive by the vultures in the House. He served one ignonimious term. It was painful to watch.
