BROAD DISPARITIES IN VOTES AND POLLS RAISING QUESTIONS (Bradley Effect)

THE 1989 ELECTIONS: PREDICTING THE OUTCOME; BROAD DISPARITIES IN VOTES AND POLLS RAISING QUESTIONS

By ANDREW ROSENTHAL, SPECIAL TO THE NEW YORK TIMES

LEAD: Voter surveys for the elections Tuesday in Virginia and New York City produced widely divergent and largely inaccurate results, leaving poll takers divided over whether the survey methods were flawed or people simply lied about voting for a black candidate to avoid seeming biased.

Voter surveys for the elections Tuesday in Virginia and New York City produced widely divergent and largely inaccurate results, leaving poll takers divided over whether the survey methods were flawed or people simply lied about voting for a black candidate to avoid seeming biased.

The polls projected far greater margins of victory for black candidates in two major races than they actually received. The inaccuracies have provoked a renewed debate over the touchy issue of news organizations' use of election surveys, and they illustrate the difficulty of accounting for racial attitudes in campaign opinion research.

In New York, polls made public the day before the mayoral election gave David N. Dinkins leads of 14 percentage points (by The Daily News with WABC-TV) to 18 points (by The New York Observer). His actual margin of victory over Rudolph W. Giuliani was about 2 percentage points.

Given all the people who have been threatened and intimidated by Barack Obama supporters, if somebody were to call my house out of the blue and asks me who I am going to vote for, I might be tempted to say Obama, out of fear that they are merely making a list of people to target.

I would be tempted for about a second... And then I would tell them that I am voting for McCain, and they can go to Hell!

Poor, pitiful pollsters — they can’t see my ballot, and they have to take my word for it. ha ha

These people are also discounting the "Liberman effect", where a liberal candidate benefited in the party primary and lost the general election - to the candidate he beat in the primary.

Not to mention the "Sarah Palin" effect, where people are going to say they will vote for the Democrat but end up voting for the self-made everywoman in the election.

Not to mention the "Joe the Plumber" effect, where people are going to think long and hard about what will happen to their personal tax bill when their wealth is being spread around.

It's just a question of whether it's the same voter affected by all the effects, or different voters each with their own reason to confound the experts.

I'd like to do a premptive strike on something that is probably going to happen tomorrow. Arizona has one major newspaper. It's a commie rag called the Arizona People's Republic. The Obamacorns who "work" for the People's Republic love controversy. The paper is so leftist that they can't even sell it anywhere in the state except where there is large concentrations of Communists. It is now down to the size of a large comic book.

This rag is about to endorse their "messiah," Barack Hussein Obama. So, when this is NATIONAL "NEWS", don't be surprised.

Arizona has 8 House seats. The People's Republic already has endorsed 6 Nazi Pelosi 'RATS. Only two Republicans. The Arizona Republic IS NOT a conservative newspaper. It's a Commie rag that no one in this state reads.

The Arizona People's Republic is recommending that the voters vote AGAINST the Marriage amendement, Prop 102. The Amendment will only change our constitution to read that marriage is between a male and a female. The Arizona Republic doesn't like that idea. THE ARIZONA REPUBLIC IS NOT A CONSERVATIVE newspaper.

Finally, the Arizona People's Republic has endorsed Sheriff Joe Arpaio's DEMOCRATIK opponent since this opponent does not agree with Sheriff Joe rounding up illegals and shipping them home to Central and South America.

When the MSM pops this EID on McCain/Palin (probably tomorrow), just remember. THE ARIZONA PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC IS A LEFTIST RAG AND IS NOT A CONSERVATIVE NEWSPAPER.

Well, I’m white and lemme say this.
This election has brought out some serious racist thoughts I didn’t know I possessed, but after hearing BHO, Rev. Wright, Louis Farrakan, etc., and having the MSM FORCE this candidate upon America and screaming that we are racist if we do not elect him, I am just SOOOO FED UP with all of it!

I’m feeling very angry and don’t give a CRAP whether or not any black person thinks I’m racist or not. I do not care and I’m starting to develop a REAL ATTITUDE. I’m hearing this a lot from my friends as well.

THis election has also driven a wedge between me and the black friends I thought I had. They have turned cold toward me when they’ve discovered I won’t vote for BHO.

He has DIVIDED this nation even more. We are fearful and very, VERY angry and the election is not even over.

Sheila don’t be down on yourself. I have had to confess to my priest for having the same feelings and letting loose some very ugly words at my t.v. Called my t.v. a n-—er and I couldn’t believe I said that. Especially since I know that there are so many black folks out there I would be proud to cast my ballot for, for president. It’s just the arrogance and the violence Obama is willing to use to get whatever he wants. I mean, what do you call kicking all of the people off the ballot in all the other races he has ever won? Violence and intimidation, illegal tampering in the primary election well documented against Hillary Clinton’s supporters? He is a thug from Chicago who has had some dead bodies pile up around him already and he’s not even president. (We thought ol slick was bad, huh)

So Obama gets about 90% of the black vote in the primaries (against Hillary Clinton, whom black people love) and will get about 95% of the black vote in the general election. And, Obama should get around 40% of the white vote on election day. To the mainstream media, the almost unanimous support for Obama by black people is not racist, but the 60% of white Americans who favor McCain are clearly racists.

I, too, am very tired of the double standard.

Their guarantee would be worth nothing - that’s the point and that’s why I wouldn’t respond with my choice. If enough people said that to them, then the pollsters might conclude they cannot get an accurate poll and just go away.

Absolutely Sheila...Hussein Obama has undone over 60 years worth of civil rights progress. I would say "singlehandedly", but he's had his more-than-willing accomplices in the media, and a hoard of white-guilt liberals to help him at every turn.

In true takeover style, he has his battalions, i.e. ACORN, to go out and pave his way via fraudulent registrations of non-existent voters, as well as ramp up intimidation with his "in-yo'-race" promotion.

If you have black friends who have dumped you because you wouldn't vote their way, then, they were not friends and were just using you. I would say good riddance to bad rubbish.

j I - like you - have developed a real attitude through all of this; I'm saying, out of all of the black causes that have been supported by ALL Americans, I am leaning toward stopping any and all contributions to anything in that vein...permanently.

"Equal rights" has come and gone, and they now enjoy "superior rights"...and we're expected to fund it, and take it.

Maybe we can't fight back in many ways, but there is always the wallet...hit them where it hurts the most. Boycott any sponsors that stand up for this one-sided "civil rights", and stop teaching our jobs and skills away.

America has been more than gracious throughout the who time to try and right some wrongs from an era gone by, but it has turned out to be the old adage..."give a mouse a cookie and he'll want a glass of milk...".

Don’t come down on yourself. Many, many of us feel the same way.

My husband who is usually very calm, things roll off of his back very easily, went into a long rant last evening about how angry he is and that these socialists thugs have finally pushed his last button.

That is usually how I feel, but coming from him, I was shocked.

The Rats have divided this nation in two in a very dramatic way.

I don’t know if it can come back. You’re right, the election hasn’t happened yet, and lots of us are over the top angry.

What will happen when the results come out. How will the losing side react?

Here’s where it gets good. Liberals would never think of lying to a pollster and saying that they’re voting for McCain.

But I think there are many repubs and PUMA’s who have been less than honest when polled.

This could be a very exciting election night.

The difference is that our side won’t riot and never think of doing something like rioting. Too many blacks in the inner city don’t get their way and riot. Will never forget Rodney King and how they burned out places in LA. Scary thoughts! Obama and the pollsters are cooking up a prescription for riots by duping the American people who on election day will not be duped.

A lot of Americans have had affirmative action forced down their throats and will remember that when voting. White males have been passed over for promotions and are at the end of the line — they will not vote in large numbers for Obama IMHO. Obama pays women less then he does guys that work for him while McCain pays the same so why should any woman vote for Obama.

In fact, if you are not far left, why would anyone vote for the socialist!

I won’t use the term “riot” when it comes to our side. (conservative Americans)
But the word “FIGHT” comes to mind.

I will fight to win my country back. I cannot specifically define the word “fight” at this time. It depends on how far down the well these leftists try to take America.

But I agree. Riot we will not. Conservatives were taught to not destroy other peoples property.

Exactly! We did FIGHT during the Florida Fiasco to keep Gore from stealing the election with rallies around the Country and people in FL making sure the Florida Election Boards counted the CHADs right. We are in a FIGHT right now to make sure the Socialist stays out of the WH.

We do respect other people’s property unlike thugs that support Obama but we are not going to sit by and see our country taken over by the Socialist because we are going to beat him at the ballot box. Everyone is seeing Obama’s response to a reporter that dares ask a question of his VP candidate he doesn’t like. That should send a chill throughout America and make everyone FIGHT even harder to win this election!

"Communism by way of racism. Make everyone feel guilty, divide and conquer "

Once upon a time, you had to do something obvious to be called a racist, like use the n-word or something...

Now, all you have to do is be WHITE, and if they don't need anything from you right now, then you're a racist.

And remember, if he wins...you'll still be WHITE, and you'll revert back to being a RACIST because of that fact alone.

Didn't any of the people out there in la-la democrat land ever hear the adage about "Sticks and Stones..."?

Those who are leveling these charges are like children, looking for a reaction, and the reaction they want right now is for you to vote for their messiah.

COLOR AIN'T GOT NOTHING TO DO WITH BHO BEING A FAR-LEFT, SOCIALIST-MARXIST WITH RADIAL TAX AND SPEND IDEAS.

If you don't like McCain, the vote for Palin.
