This is Halloween and Obama is trying to scare and fool us Senior Citizens. He is planning to kill Medicare, as we know it, and give us a SEVERELY MODIFIED old age health insurance plan.
Obama would, for example, eliminate a certain number of surgical procedures costing ten of thousands of dollars each. The Democrats' idea is to reign in Medicare's costs at the expense of the Senior Citizens.
First, Obama wants to take away our retirement plans like in Argentina. Now, he wants to compromise our health insurance coverage.
This is a helluva way to treat people!
My Fellow Americans, Obama is worse than we could ever conceive and believe!
There is one way to stop this. Vote for John McCain. And vote for your Republican Senator and Republican Congressman or Congresswoman.
He’ll probably only limit expensive procedures for white people. Payback, you know.
But it’s your DUTY to die when you get old, so that others may live more comfotably.

You would be shocked at how it shafts my caregivers; they are lucky to get 60% or less of what they charge patients with no ins or better ins. At some point, they will refuse to take Medicare patients altogether, think it may already be happening.
I did buy an extended care policy years ago which has much better coverage than Medicare as I don't think they have any provisions for long-term care as it is. If the the insurance companies don't go belly up, that gives me a little added layer of protection.
That kind of insurance is prohibitively expensive now, as the premiums have skyrocketed.

People have no idea how terrible social health care is when you are at the end. People also dont seem to understand that in many Nationalized health care systems you actaully need to go out and purchase an additional private plan to upgrade your care from horrible to lousy, see England or Great Britain or whatever they’re calling themselves these days.

Betcha they don’t. In 2000 and 2004 all you saw were AARP commercials supporting Gore and Kerry. They are absent this year. The rich geezers are concerned that Obama is going to take their SS payments and then tax the capital gains they live on in retirement.

yea, euthanasia and limited health care for the elderly and dying is a big thing in socialist europe. but where did you see this specifically, this is the kind of thing that a press conference should be held on. even if we need to do something about healthcare, we should not mess with medicare at all. it is the best system for the elderly in the world
In every country with socialized medicine, the result is rationed care with the elderly bearing the brunt of the rationing. Our grand experiment will not start out with rationed care and single payer health care but it will evolve into single payer within 5 to 10 years. The brutal effects of rationing will take some time to develop. The rats are hoping that it will be too late to change after reality sinks in.
I suspect that the American experiment with socialized medicine will turn out much worse than other countries. We have higher expectations about our health care system. When the hammer falls, there will populist solutions that make the situation even worse. The rats will try to stop you from paying for private health care and stop physicians from providing private health care services. Hopefully, private health care options will arise in other countries to circumvent these limitations. Every physician better learn to deal with the jack booted authority of the rats. Rats rule! No conservatives allowed or even conservative thoughts!

Medicare is doomed no matter who wins. It is simply unsustainable. Like Social “Insecurity”, it is a ponzi scheme that is about to unravel. After all these years of paying exorbitant taxes to support current retirees, Boomers are going to be left holding the empty bag.
This is precisely why government should never have gotten involved in health care in the first place. Government health care always fails.
I remember some congressional hearings that made some news last week, where all the items were being considered. The Social Security confiscation of 401k's was a big item. Rush mentioned it too.

Giving money to the health care system doesn't produce much more care. All it does is reallocate care from those that don't have political power (the working lower middle class) and gives it to those that are politically powerful (seniors).
So really it's about allowing broke seniors to die so that current workers can live.
Socialized Medicine = politics determines who gets care instead of income.
We already have socialized medicine. When old whites had political power, the state allocated them medical care (while others were priced out).
Well, Obama doesn't need ol' whitey. The young and poor are his base, so the state will allocate the care to them now.
