In other news, Barack Obama scrutinizes the bags of children at the neighborhood party to make sure they all have the same amount. From each according to his Trick-or-Treat prowess, to each according to his need.

Meanwhile, while Palin’s out there building goodwill and showing her honest good nature, Obama has bought up all the remaining “Where’s Waldo” books and changed their titles to “Hidin’ Biden.”

This is adorable. My six year old son did the sweetest thing last night. We took him to a church function called “Trunk or Treat.” Basiclly, Trick-or-Treating in the church parking lot. My wife walked him around while I passed out candy from the back of our van.

After he and my wife finished my son sat in the van taking a break, eating candy. My wife and I started running out of candy. I told my wife that I was amazed that the candy was going so fast. My boy heard me, I guess, hopped out of the van, got in front of me and started passing out his candy. “I have more, daddy, it’s OK.” I told him that he didn’t have to do it because the church was providing replacement candy. He said, “I want to.” My wife eventually convinced him to stop.

I hugged him more tightly than you would believe. I am so proud of that boy.

A tribute to the parents & how you raised them. Reading about your son & watching Piper in the video sure warms the heart. Thanks for the smile!

“Meanwhile, while Palin’s out there building goodwill and showing her honest good nature”

What I saw was a mother teaching her child that it is better to give, than receive.

She probably has done this with all her children, back in Alaska.

She’s ‘that’ kind of person.

You are 100% correct.

“I am so proud of that boy.”

You are not the only one. You might tell him you have some friends on FR who are proud of him as well.

Your son is the picture of a conservative.

He chose to donate some of his candy to others.

In an Obama world, someone would come around and take his candy to give it to others.

OK, that made me tear up.

Now...when can he come over to play with my sometimes selfish seven year old? ;)

Obama was probably on his way to Farrakhan's house to discuss their shared hatred of whites and Jews.

The things that children learn from their parents speak more loudly about their parents than a half hour prime-time special or two ghost-written autobiographies ever could.

I’ve seen that sign, Trunk or Treat, in Swedesboro, NJ for the first time.

Is this a new nationwide activity, or just here in NJ?

I just moved here to GA earlier this year, but I’ve been told that our church has done it for three years now. Wildly popular!! We had literally 1000+ Trick-or-Treaters over the 2 hours it went on. A lot of churches did it, and some local malls had trick or treating in the mall, kids hop from church to church to mall to church. Almost no-one does the neighborhoods. My grounded 13 year old stayed home to pass out candy to the kids in the neighborhood. He said maybe 20 kids showed.

It wasn’t halloween but...

When my daughter was five I gave her money for candy at the supermarket. At the counter there was a collecion can for homeless kids. She asked me what it was and after I explained it to her she put the candy back and put her money in the can. Brought a tear to my eye then and now just thinking about it.

Now she is a soldier preparing to deploy to Iraq next year.

I’m in Indiana and I believe it must be nationwide as several churches in my town went together and had trunk or treat last night.

I wonder how many Obamas or McCains there were? Did anyone go as Biden?

Thank you all for your kind words. Hearing it from my wife, though, we have nothing to do with his selflessness. He learns it from his older brother.
