I think it’s time for some Navy guys to take out some of these “pirates.”

Every time I read about these pirates, I think about our old Battleships.

From what I understand, the propulsion engines (steam?) are a bit difficult to operate.

Re-powering would be tough, too. But I can dream. 14 inch hull plating. 4-10 more inches thick at the superstructure.

Would be perfect for pulling into Somalian ports and blasting them to smithereeens. RPG would not be able to sink an Iowa.

I see a business opportunity. In American western history, tourists and would be adventurers would pay to ride the rails for the opportunity to shoot some buffalo or whatever. That never seemed sporting to me, but times change and what was old is new again.

How about something for the adventurer in all of us. A ship that looks like a plump, easy pickings target, but is actually loaded with all sorts of gun toting, pirate hating tourists loaded with extra ammo who have paid for a cruise into pirate country and all the fun and adventure that may follow.

As long as owners and other parties keep shelling out massive amounts of $$$$$ for ransom, this type of thing is not going to stop.

Someone needs to send a fat “target” by the Somali coast, and when the pirates get close, open up on them with missiles, .50 Cals, etc. Blow them up.

Do this about 10 times, and voila! No more pirate problem.
