I never believed OH was in any danger of going to 0bama. His only hope was the chicanery of the ACORN machine. This will clinch it for McCain. It also puts him that much closer to bagging PA and checkmating 0bama.
Sarah is talking about it:
Sarah Palin Connects With Attack on the Liberal Media (Coal Plant Issue)
Why is it a good thing? With this and the Palin-union connection, you really don’t think the coal miners unions in PA, MI,IN, and OH would have a last minute switch because they are fearful of losing their jobs?
What I mean is, I can’t find any benefit from those early voters
Oh thanks... sorry... for some reason I couldn’t find it
I disagree. Coal miners and coal plant workers may have voted for Karl before they heard about his plans to put them on welfare.
Union members will switch their votes. Coal is looking at a possible golden age if the new technologies prove to be workable. If Obama is elected, they lose their jobs and their homes. As will the townies who depend on the coal fields for their revenues.
This is a big deal, people. Watch the coal areas for a big shift.
Bad statement....it is good from Obama’s view point.
Obama is a fool. Coal is an abundant energy resource that we have in huge quantities here. We’ve got coal like the Saudis have oil (probably even moreso than that). We’ve got enormous coal reserves in PA, OH, WV, and KY. We should convert our electricity production to nuclear, and use coal-to-liquid processes to make fuel for transportation. But none of that is going to happen is the Zero wins.
I had heard the president of the United Mine Workers recently endorsed Obambi. I wondering if he’s rethinking that endorsement?
Don’t forget this issue affects Pennsylvania also...and the rest of the couuntry. Take 48% of energy source out of equation and all other prices related to energy supply go up.
Actually, Marv may not apply in this instance but it has been a while since I pulled him out so...
The other thread is worth reading also.
I gotta concur, that is one of the stupidest things I have ever seen come out of a politician’s mouth.
And I’ve been around a long time.
I will offer this wisdom. The stupidity demonstrated by Obama on Economics amazes me.
First, utility companies pass on every single cost, tax, and fee onto the consumer....so they don’t go bankrupt unless they do it to themselves (look around for bankrupt energy supply companies, you just don’t find many of those).
Second, who gets the real shaft here? The consumer who gets the bill from the energy company. They used to pay $110 a month, so with the Obama “bankruptcy” tactic...they will pay $128 a month (my own best estimate). Who gets broke the fastest? The poorest folks. For Obama, you can guess why the poorest folks are upset about their rising electrical bill and wondering why it continues to go up.
Third. For all of the tire companies, bakeries, twinkie factories, and Wal-Marts who get the Obama-enhanced utility bills? They pass their costs onto their consumers. So as you see your twinkies rise four percent in cost and ask your twinkie salesman why....he’ll explain that power usage went up. You will accept this and just pay more for twinkies, without batting an eye.
Fourth and final, what are we saying here? Bankruptcy is a government tactic? Really? So if we are unhappy with McDonalds...we rig up beef sales in the same manner and make cattlemen go bankrupt....in support of a US government policy? If we are unhappy with boxing, we rig it up with a bankruptcy policy as well? Something in this logic of pushing people, cities, and businesses toward bankruptcy....sounds like a man with potatoes for brains. You can’t stand in front of any group of serious journalists and pretend that bankruptcy is a solid policy of fixing your problems. I might as well say that bankrupting Chicago would be a positive thing, and find some logic to prove my point.
If Obama wants to use this tactic...then fine...but we might as well all get involved and help bankrupt the New York Yankees, the City of New Orleans, Coke, NBC....just because we dislike all of them. It makes just as much sense.
Last chance Senator McCain-—SEND TODD PALIN TO A COAL MINE TODAY!
If Obama sets the stage for the bankruptcy of the coal industry we will be dependent on LPG for electical generation.
Miners don’t do LPG.
We have 500 years worth of coal. We need to use it.

That cartoon is too funny and unfortunately all to true as well!
