Toast - Why Obama Will Lose and the Political Analysts Will Be Destroyed
seanmaelstrom.wordpress.com ^ | Nov 3, 2008 | seanmalstrom

Posted on 11/03/2008 10:27:02 PM PST by LibertyUSAmerica

I’ve checked my email, and I have over a hundred new messages. And I can’t get to anything resorting to ‘Sean Malstrom’ due to real life situations. Luckily I changed my career gears long ago. But my old profession of political analysis is going to be absolutely destroyed. I still think McCain will win the election and do so by a larger margin than Bush did in 2004. When this happens, a hurricane of outrage will be unleashed at the political analysis business, mostly the pollsters. People will demand to know how they could be so off. In other words, the future of the political analysis business will be destroyed as their reputation will become destroyed in the upcoming days.

Welcome aboard.

I hope you feel comfortable here. From one ex-Democrat to another, I urge you to remember the feeling of being ostracized from your party and lied to/maligned by the media. I got tired of having to apologize for being pro-life, pro-capitalism and Christian. Your differences with them are probably different, but we’re similar in this way: We did not leave the Democratic Party, it left us.

So, since McCain is toast, I assume you will either, one, vote for O-scum-a tomorrow to jump on the band wagon, or two, go fishing for three weeks.

I doubt he will stay home. I won't either. I can't wait to vote against Obama...even though I'm in California, and McCain has no chance of winning here (moreover any Republican who could win California, wouldn't even need California).

This blog makes me think McCain has a chance, though I'm not nearly as cock-sure as the author. But I will concede the author's point about where the candidates are actually campaigning in the closing days. It sure seems to indicate that the leaning blue states are really tossups and the tossups are really leaning red.

Thank you so much for this article.

Although it was a very long read, I enjoyed every word. The author articulated everything I’ve been feeling about this election. I’ve been fairly confident, but still a little nervous. Now I can sleep well tonight and not worry tomorrow at work.

I had considered possibly calling in sick so I could watch the election returns, but now I feel no need to do so. I’ll check them when I get home.

This guy has excellent sound analysis and I hope someone (or a lot of someone’s) sends a link to Rush & Sean by email with the subject line:

‘Obama’s Toast’ - must read show prep

I would love to hear them discuss this tomorrow.

Thanks again.

Obama's socialism scares people. A lot of Republicans are very motivated to vote. It is an entirely different feel than in 2006...

If I may borrow your initial statement and end with my own:

...because there is a very real concern that between a socialist President and an unstoppable socialist house and senate, with at least one SCOTUS position at stake tossed in the fold, we are perhaps closer than any time in history to actually witnessing the end of this nation and it's freedoms as we knew them.

My friend in the insurance business in Pittsburgh had to register as a Democrat or he would not even be allowed into the offices to sell group health plans to them... they check.

I hope you are right. There were certainly a lot More McCain signs in my town than there were Bush signs four years ago, but when I hear Obama supporters talking it is very clear that they either have no idea of what the man stands for or just don't care, they are literally like the walking dead mindlessly chanting “Change” instead of “Brains”.

If LibertyUSAmerica is wrong, the country may deserve what it gets, but WE don’t deserve what it gets. Unfortunately, we would.

VOTE, BABY, VOTE!! I’m up and getting ready to go get in line now!

So, you did not support the mindless blogs and their takedown of Dan Rather? Do I have that right?

I ‘spose the “professional media” was right in their reporting on Dan.

I think that, not only will there be more Dems voting McCain/Palin than is being reported, there will be more AAs as well.

I mean, seriously. How arrogant is it to just assume people are all going to vote for someone based on their ethnicity?

I have never EVER looked at a candidate and thought...Oh GOODIE!!! He’s white! I must therefore support him!! I have a hard time envisioning that nearly 100% of AAs are going to do that either. A large percentage? Maybe. A lot vote straight Dem when race isn’t a factor anyway.

But people aren’t drones and I think that there will exist a sector of the AA group that goes, “You know...as cool as it is to see someone from my ethnic group at the top of the ticket, I don’t agree with his Marxist/no growth agenda for America and can’t vote for him.”

Literally, for the first time in my life (I'm 47) I'm scared - terrified - of a major party's candidate for POTUS

Many others feel exactly like you and understand this: FEAR is a much more powerful motivating emotion than GREED. Middle America is FEARFUL of this radical Marxist whereas his KoolAid drinkers are just GREEDY.

FEAR will trump GREED today at the ballot box!

I have been canvassing for McCain here in NH for several weeks and time and time again those I have polled/talked to have told me that they are "scared of Obama" "afraid" of him, "frightened", and "terrified" about what he wants to do to America. Every time they mentioned this their comments were unsolicited! There is genuine fear of Obamessiah/Obamusolinni in the heart of the electorate here in Southern (liberal) New Hampshire. This was BEFORE we learned that he wants to bankrupt the coal industry and cause everyone’s electric rates to "SKYROCKET"!

Many people also told me they have a very uncomfortable feeling about him because they do not really know who/what he is... too secretive and deceiving.

I am not wearing rose colored glasses; many here in NH have drunk the purple Obamessiah Socialist Kool Aid and (from personal experience I have learned) for those folks, no amount of truth about who Obama really is or what he says he really wants to do to America will change their minds. But for the rest of the electorate here it appears that they are VERY scared of him and VERY motivated to vote for McCain.

Do those who have drunk the Obamessiah Socialist Kool Aid, now make up the majority of the American electorate, or have we as a nation still maintained our God given roots and retained our sanity? We should know one way or another within 24 hours (someone call Jack Bauer).

The third leg is Economic Conservatism (represented by Romney).

Why is Mitt an economic conservative? Because he's rich?

We have a long, long road ahead after this disaster, but if Mitt Romney is an economic conservative, then I'm going to just take up vegetable gardening and forget about politics.

Mitt is an administrator, a very skilled one, but he'd administer anything. You certainly get the impression that if we had socialism, Mitt would do his damndest to have the best socialist system in history.

But an economic CONSERVATIVE?

Don't be absurd.

LONG but I noted this...

The reality was that Clinton did not pull out of those states, wasn’t falling apart internally, and state polls that showed double digit Obama leads ended up either becoming small Obama wins (such as Virginia) or comfortabel Clinton wins (New Hampshire, California, Pennslyvania, etc. etc).

Mac wins.
