Good for you, your courage is why there is still hope.
Word of mouth and a positive outlook will drive others to vote today. I am working today in a physician’s office, but I am encouraging people to enjoy the nice weather while they go to vote.
Let’s keep up this kind of posting. We need to let others know that we are very committed to seeing this day through!
That is not a good thing! Maybe they will grow weary of waiting to vote for nobama and go home.
I know but we need to overwhelm them in the ‘burbs’. I think Holland, Zeeland, Hudsonville, Ada, Cascade, Caledonia, Byron Center, Lowell, Rockford, etc. are also turning out. Add up the 30 - 60 mintute wait in those areas and its a good thing.
SOMETHING IS HAPPENING, FOLKS...
But honestly, I’m not sure what...
My Suburban/Rural precinct (Around 1,800 voters) had 390 votes cast at 10:30AM eastern! In 2006, we had 113 cast at 1.30pm!, and 830 total for 2004.
A larger neighboring suburban precinct votes in the same school, and had about 50 in line at that same time!
Turnout is HUGE, and I mean unprecedented.
I am a voter in the rural eastern shore of virginia with about 30-40% african-american population. Unfortunately it is pretty racially polarized regarding politics. We all vote at one of the town firehouses and for a region where the biggest town is 3000 people the lines were long outside the firehouse. 50 people or so. Many around here are voting McCain as we are close to the maryland eastern shore (HARDCORE CATHOLIC REPUBLICANS). The african american turnout at the polls this morning at 7 am was minimal 2-3 people of the 50 there. My wife went later thought and said it was about 30% African-american. One Obama guy was removed from the polling place because he was taunting people as they walked into the firehouse by shouting “It’s our time!”. Overall I feel goosd about the support for mccain in this heavily rural and black portion of Virginia. The only ads I have seen on tv in the past 3-4 days were mccain ads. He has been pummeling this area. I think he will win VA albeit by a slim margin. NOVA is the issue lots of Obama supporters in the DC suberbs. I do have freinds all over the state elsewhere that say MCCAIN voters are coming out in droves. who knows.
Hubby and I voted a short time ago in Clinton Township, MI. Very big turnout, but I think they’ve added another precinct to our location. Unfortunately, big Dem area here. Macomb County is very Repub in the north, but the bigger poplulation areas (ie. Clinton Twp, Warren, Eastpointe) are heavily Dem. Schools have gotten the day off here since my 14 yo was a baby. For the safety of the children, don’t you know, since we use our schools are polls! 21 yo son to vote after classes today!!
Hey houston, I voted in La Porte this morning and was disheartened at the number of hispanic turnout there. My hubby said remember they are catholic so chin up... but I have never noticed that many at the polls before... someone encourage me please! My BFF is hispanic and not catholic and staunchly republican but her extended family is major Obama worshipers...
MI is my surprise state. You just have to think there are a lot of people tired of Dem politics there.

I’m in south Dayton, red area, and I’m hearing that Warren (very, very red) is massive.
Those 17 electoral votes would cause a lot of damage to Obama.
I voted here in Jackson County, MI (Precinct #1) at 11:00AM. I was #822, waited in line for 20 minutes, and was surprised at the high turnout at my small, rural precinct.
Interesting notes:
1) Prop 2 (Stem cell abuse) opponents were working in the parking lot.
2) A conversation in line nearby was about pollsters and how to-be voters were lying to them as well as the number of robocalls they’d been getting.
Tonight will be a very long night.

I voted in Ada, Egypt Valley firehose. I took my daughter for her first time voting!
In my business in Kentwood, I have had a LOT of blue collar people saying they were going to vote for the first time. And vote Republican.
I got a call at about 2:00 from my daughter who recently moved to Minneapolis. She got to the polls at 6:50 this morning and waited an hour and a half to vote. She heard they are expecting 80% turnout in Minnesota. Don't know what this all means....
We are anxiously awaiting your findings, sir...
