UPDATE FROM OHIO (More good news)
self | 11/4/08 | LS

Posted on 11/04/2008 1:31:19 PM PST by LS

So far:

Turnout at GOP precincts has been unbelievable.

In Darke Couty, which went 2:1 for Bush in 04, they are looking at 80% turnout and thousands of additional R voters.

In Allen County, heavy R turnout.

In Montgomery County (Kerry won by 2% in 04), the west side (D) precincts are coming in under 20% by mid-afternoon!!! Our R precincts are outpacing them 2:1.

Reports of other red counties are at tremendously high levels.

BASED ON THIS . . . .

wait for it

not only would I "call" Ohio now for McCain, but it's entirely likely he could end up being a sizeable statewide victory margin. I won't tell you yet what it could be, but it portends amazing things for the rest of the states.

FDT was going to take Sarah if he won.

That’s assuming that people who voted Republican in 2004 are still voting Republican in 2008. With the economic meltdown, I wouldn’t bet on that.

Its 5 pm eastern and there have been no exit poll releases, leaked or otherwise.

That is a very good sign to me. Had they had Lord Barak the Most Merciful leading they would have leaked them out all over the place.

Hannity reports Toledo police are issuing riot gear. Do you think they believe that McCain supporters will riot? Doubtful. Something big is up here.

Thanks for trying to steal the election, ACORN. I believe had they not done that, the people wouldn't have come out in droves to try and stop them.

if McCain pulls this off, I’m going to be hard pressed not to engage in “celebratory gunfire” outside my suburbanite home..

If The Mick and The Chick pull this off, don’t worry, they’ll be a lot of gunfire but they wont be celebrating....keep yer head down.

I was in Cheviot last week and the best yard sign I saw read, “ I’m bitterly clinging to my guns and voting McCain.”

From my observations traveling from the west side of Cincinnati up the I-75 corridor through Dayton last week were the nearly 2-1 McCain vs 0bama signs I viewed.

Go O-H-I-O! Go McCain/Palin!

I enjoyed Ms Estrich get drunker and drunker on Election Night '04, as she realized that it was all slipping away.

Geez, she's just an ugly person. Inside and Out.

I will give a report soon from Van Wert Co. My girlfriend just got off work and is heading to the polls. She will clue me in on how things have been going there. This is pure farm country!

What choice do they have? Oboma? Why would they go from bad to worse? That would be a death wish for them.

"Picking Palin was a brillant move by McCain and threw the entire election plans of Obama's thugs into disarray."

Yes, we could never be in this position, given the economy and Demagogue b.s., without Sarah Palin. Win or lose, she has given McCain a fighting chance when otherwise his campaign was going to be D.O.A.

Whatever the outcome, and I sure do hope it's turning into a McCain/Palin victory, the sleazebags who tried to torpedo the McCain/Palin ticket from within the party ought to be dead to Republicans and certain to conservatives forever.

I will never give the time of day to Noonan, Parker, Frum et al nor to Colin Powell and friends.

It's one thing to have healthy honest discussions and disagreements, it's quite another to pull out all the stops to try to torpedo your own party's candidates in the final stretch!!!!

Noonan, Parker, Powell et al did not merely "disagree" -- they did their very best SMEAR and to try to defeat the McCain/Palin ticket. That is a very different thing from "ah, well, I don't support my own party's ticket this year but I won't campaign energetically for their defeat."

NOTE: this is a very different thing from the "PUMA" phenomenon moving away from their party, BECAUSE whatever one thinks of them on particular policies, McCain and Palin are both completely beyond reproach with regard to basic patriotism, honor, and devotion to country -- whereas Obambi is highly dubious in those categories.

the west side (dayton) (D) precincts are coming in under 20% by mid-afternoon!!!

If true, that's a very good thing. I wonder how much "early voting" has affected this?

I live in NW Warren county. Turnout is huge. It's much bigger than '04'.

There are a lot of uncontested races in the county with only an R running. Something that I noticed was that some folks were having the ballot reader beep at them to alert them of unmarked choices on their ballot. From this I surmised they must be a D (voting for o) and didn't want to cast a vote for any R's. The 2 women ahead of me had this happen to them, so I surmised they voted D.

There were also a lot of newbie voters there, (people saying they'd never voted before) who I tend to think only came in to vote for o.

I also saw a lot of yard signs for o spring up like weeds over the weekend.

I hope I'm wrong but I left the polls feeling discouraged.

If McCain does pull it off, there will be 'gunfire' on the other side too - plenty to go along with all those pretty arson fires and mobs!
