“Eek. I hope not. Socialized medicine? Driving electricity rates into the stratosphere to bankrupt the coal industry? Establishing a civilian police force (read: brown shirts) as well armed as the military? Making nice with the whack job in Iran? And let’s not forget “spreading the wealth.” “

I was refering to brining the country back together again. My worst nightmare is socialized medicine. I would hope that a few checks and balances would keep the socialized programs at bay, but you never know. These are strange times we live in. Although the last time I checked, the same population that elected him president, is about the renew the democratic majority in the house and senate. So much for checks and balances.

I can only hope that America’s best interest is actually a priority for our newly elected government. Seeing as how they don’t have to spend 3/4ths of their time trying to undermine the country now that they are running it.

“...we should hope and pray that an Obama presidency somehow turns out to be something better than what we’ve been led to expect. For the sake of this country and my children, that is my hope.”

Yeah, and I hoped that Bill Clinton might be OK, too! Obama is a whole lot worse. You're in a dream world, I'm afraid.

“Only a confused moderate wishing to confuse others would stand behind a Marxist and still say that he’s a conservative.”

I equate you calling him a Marxist with the non-stop bleating of the left comparing Bush to hitler and thier high pitched squeals that he is a fascist. Extreme claims do require proof. You will win no converts with exageration.

“A misguided country unified under socialism?”

Which ammendment allows the president to pass laws that would allow socialism to overtake our society?

Congress on the other hand does have that power. Ever consider the idea that your rage has been diverted to a figurehead and not aimed at where the problem actually is?

Unless you are in the armed forces, nobody is your Commander-in-Chief.

I will never respect any Democrat/Marxist.

Hey you big eared, Muslim, Marxist Obama here’s a news flash: Socialism doesn’t work, you big moron.

Palin/Jindal in 2012!

or

Palin/Tancredo in 2012

Tom Tancredo Quotes:

Radical Islam has been the foe of Christendom for centuries.
Tom Tancredo

The Democratic Party looks at massive immigration, legal and illegal, as a source of voters.
Tom Tancredo

They view massive immigration as a massive infusion of potential voters for the Democratic Party, and therefore will do nothing, absolutely nothing to stop that flow of legal or illegal entrance into the country.
Tom Tancredo

To be called a sovereign nation, a nation has to be able to control its own borders. It is controlling your own destiny in a way, and we don’t control our own borders.
Tom Tancredo

I believe that what we are fighting here is not just a small group of people who have hijacked a religion, but it is a civilization bent on destroying ours.
Tom Tancredo

Tom Tancredo is for freedom , smaller government, strong military , pro-life, strong closed borders, deporting illegals, for America, and for freedom.

In Addition , Tom Tancredo is for limited government , for abolishing government agencies like the dept. of education:

http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1G1-67505851.html

WASHINGTON — Newly elected congressman Tom Tancredo, who wants to abolish the U.S. Department of Education, has been appointed to the House education committee.

``I think it’s a lot easier to kill the beast when you get in the cave,’’ Tancredo said. ``I do think I’ll be in a position to help make some changes.’’

The word nobody wants to use, but you see if you are here illegally, that’s the punishment, deportation.
Tom Tancredo

Although we know his background, Obama was very noncommittal throughout this campaign about what he would actually do. He surfed the wave of "hope and change" all the way into the White House.

Because of this, as Krauthammer pointed out this evening, Obama now has a "mandate" to do anything he wants. Whatever he says, the Democrat majority will do. But if he's smart, the opposite will not apply. If he follows the wishes of hard-left Speaker Pelosi, they risk a backlash in two and in four years. If Obama dares, or even seriously threatens, to veto a Democrat congress on items that are to the left of the American people, he and we all win.

By winning the White House, Obama has also earned the mandate to speak to the minority community about parental responsibility and other moral issues. Voters in various states tonight, perhaps including California, showed that they believe in something better than "anything goes". Perhaps Obama can build on that as well.

As someone who has argued against Barack Obama for this whole year, I don't come to this position lightly, but I'm going to assume that Obama has learned the lessons of Jimmy Carter and the first two years of the Clintons, and that he'll at least attempt to do what's right for America rather than only what's right for the Democratic Party.

I say give him a chance. If he fails, crush him. As Clinton saw in 1994, voter remorse can translate into action in a mere two years.

You are chaning no one’s mind, you liberal.

Hey, Socialism doesn’t work. Read Friedman’s book, “FRree to Choose”, to get a clue as to why socialism/government planning or ownership can never work.

How different would this day be if Tom Tancredo or Sarah Palin were the President elect? Tom Trancredo didn't win anything in the primaries, so he would have done worse then McCain!

Saying that, I hope TT will be around, so he can be in our eye - and maybe be a Conservative candidate. (I have to say that we in our primaries had too many people, we need to find one early!)

Yes, Tom Tancredo is the best on the issues, the border, and conservatism.

I was refering to brining the country back together again.

I think that's doubtful if what I'm seeing on FR tonight is any indication.

I can only hope that America’s best interest is actually a priority for our newly elected government.

I wish I could be hopeful about that, but sadly, most of the pols seem to make getting re-elected their first priority. Sorry to be so negative, but I truly fear for the future of my country.

You do what you think you need to do. I will not have my eyes wide shut and surrender my truths. Obama has not been truthful to US. Until then My EYES stay Open and I will continue to judge by Character and truth. This has nothing to do with the Color of his Skin, but the color of his heart.

“I think you are a liberal/Marxist/Democrat like Obama is . You are a stealth troll, not posting very often.”

I have never been a liberal/Marxist/Democrat nor have I ever attempted to troll. I was raised a conservative and continue to be one. The Republicans used to be the conservative party, but long abandoned us. I think George Bush was a good president and led by not following the polls and beleive history will vindicate him.

Free Republic used to be a place where people could have intelligent discussions on political topics but sadly over the years has turned into the rights version of DU. The minute someone doesn’t walk in lockstep with the rest, the name calling starts.

“You are changing no one’s mind, you liberal.”

Those are fighting words where I come from. Watch your mouth.

My prediction

The blacks are going to run out of control in the inner cities especially with the bogus promises made by the messiah. The Mexicans will feel squeezed and we will have heavy gang warfare taking place against the blacks. It will escalate because BO will try to appease instead of enforce. The white youth will start getting P*ssed Off and will be drawn into it. Chances are the next four years will be spent trying to keep peace in our own country with no advances toward any constructive policies.

You my FRiend are part of the problem! You are making a moral equivalence between the Bush haters and us that will not support Obama...

Did Bush ever say the Constitution was flawed? Did he ever pal around with terrorists? Did he steep himself in Marxist philosophy? Did he study radicalism? Did Bush have mysterious financial backers who orchestrated a financial meltdown 3 weeks before the election? Did Bush engage in mass campaign finance fraud? Acorn voter fraud? etc...? Hell No.

Obama is no ordinary democrat who is just on the other side, that we should now support. If so, I would support him. This is something new. Something dire. Something that stinks of a coup. This guy is a threat to the republic. I will not go for the moral equivalence bait.
