Exit polls from MSNBC, CNN and Fox have shown that US president-elect Barack Obama received 78 percent of the Jewish vote in Tuesday's presidential election, whilst his rival, Republican John McCain, received 21%.

In 2004, Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry won 74% of the Jewish vote, and in 2000, Al Gore received 79%.

The MSNBC data found the numbers amongst Christians in Tuesday's election were far closer, with 45 percent of Protestants and other Christians and 54% of Catholics voting for Obama. Together, they made up 81%of the poll sample.

then why the hell do I (a Catholic) give a rats ass about it?

Same reason I support the Jews. God loves them and asks us to support them in the Bible. Besides, ones you get to know a real Jew, you find them a real Jewel. The trick is finding a real Jew. Hint, they did not vote for Obama.

People stereo type them as smart. Well, over 70% of Israeli Americans voted for McCain over Obama. I guess that makes them smarter than most of America eh? LOL

“I think you’re forgetting the hispanic catholics.”

Yep! Wasn’t even thinking of that group. Duh.

In my opinion, the only thing that happened yesterday was that the NeoCon Jews handed power back to the Liberal Jews.

It's a conspiracy? Looks to me like the 2008 breakdown is about the same as 2000 and 2004.

To learn the lessons of the past, one must read about them. To read the lessons of the past, one must care more about things of the past that gave you life than the things of tomorrows pleasures. To care about life more than pleasures, one must respect the source of life, God.

And now you know the rest of the story. Like all real stories, its all about God, or all about yourself.

Psa 81:8 “Hear, O My people, and I will admonish you; O Israel, if you would listen to Me!
Psa 81:9 “Let there be no strange god among you; Nor shall you worship any foreign god.
Psa 81:10 “I, the LORD, am your God, Who brought you up from the land of Egypt; Open your mouth wide and I will fill it.
Psa 81:11 “But My people did not listen to My voice, And Israel did not obey Me.
Psa 81:12 “So I gave them over to the stubbornness of their heart, To walk in their own devices.
Psa 81:13 “Oh that My people would listen to Me, That Israel would walk in My ways!
Psa 81:14 “I would quickly subdue their enemies And turn My hand against their adversaries.
Psa 81:15 “Those who hate the LORD would pretend obedience to Him, And their time {of punishment} would be forever.

Who is Psalm 81:16 talking about? The Meshuggah...

Starting in 1976, every 16 years the American people lose their freaking minds.

In 76 it was Carter, in 92 it was the rapist in chief. Now in 2008 it's the Obamanation.

And they just keep getting worse.

Amen and right on, American in Israel. You and I both have met some of these wonderful jewels in our lives, including a good number here on FR. I know you cherish them. I do as well.

Serves them right. The Israelis must protect themselves. Of course, if they chose to surrender to terrorism . . .

As a Christian and an American, I am sad and scared for Isreal.

Just as a counter point, as a Christian and an american, I am sad and scared for America. Israel has the same problem, or should I say, now America has the same problem poor Israel has. Israel has been putting up with leaders that hate Israeli's for over two years now. It ain't no fun...

why do we conservatives always fight for the jews, when the vast majority of them never vote for us

Same reason you love teenagers and help them instead of kill them. With much the same results.

75% McCain, 25% Obama - Evangelicals
75% McCain, 25% Obama - Israeli-Americans
54% McCain, 44% Obama - Weekly church-goers

I want you all to get the picture here. It is very important. DO NOT SAY JEW and think ISRAEL. That is just as Bigoted as saying Black and thinking AFRICA.

Guys, I have lived this. Take my advice, people come in all flavors, even Jewish ones.

You want to know who is most like the Old America in the world with settlers and surrounded by blood thirsty Indians, people most like Americans who will risk life and limb to protect the innocent, put their soldiers at risk to save an enemy combatants life?

ISRAEL

I love Israel. Something that is an accomplishment after not just reading about it but living here for eight years.

Never think Jew=Israel. While Israel may equal Jew, Jew by no means equals Israel.

Just like in Babylon, when God said go home, only a few did. Nobody knows what happened to them, their history stops in Babylon.

“Chickens voting for Col. Sanders.”

Sooo true!

I wonder how many Jews voted for the enemy in Germany before the Holocaust?

For them I can sorta excuse because they didn’t see it coming.
But NOW?

Well I think all the conservatives on FR who have complained about W and Condi's position on Israel are going to find out what having a truly anti-israel administration is going to do.

I'm one of those Jews who has been highly critical of the Bush/Rice policy. Which was more generous to the palestinians than the Clinton policy though not as damaging as Bush I.

Are you suggesting conservatives on FR who have complained about W and Condi's position on Israel voted for Obama?

The majority voted with their feet and left, though most they couldn't escape Europe. If you're looking for blame for the demise of European Jewry, you'll have to look elsewhere.

I just can't believe that 78% number. To think that this Arab-loving, Israel-hating, antisemitic schmuck got as large a percentage of the Jewish vote as more "traditional" 'Rat candidates in the past just doesn't pass the smell test. I know anecdotally that many elderly Jews went Republican for the first times in their lives. Plus even on college campuses, there were reports of unexpectedly large numbers of Jewish students supporting McCain.

I can't understand how three different polls - MSNBC, CNN, and Fox - somehow supposedly came up with that same 78 % number. If Jews made up 2% of the sample, the absolute number of Jews involved had to be less than than 100, much too few to get a statistically valid sample. Factor in the Bradley effect, more pronounced in Jews than whites as a whole, plus the fact that lefties are more likely to participate in these interviews, and you can see that the 78% figure is an overstatement, perhaps by 10 or more points.

The Republican Jewish Coalition undoubtedly did its own polling, and I'd trust its accuracy a lot more than these three put together. Let's wait and see what those results are.

The Holocaust to guide them is a bit of a misnomer. That is one thing that has been a big part of my work here. Helping Holocaust victims overcome the bitterness towards God that they picked up in the camps.

Just think about it, the people you know that have had some tragedy in their life and got bitter towards God because “How could a good God let my dog die like that”?

Then think of whole familys that had lived their lives for God watching the execution and torture of everyone they love.

The Holocaust does not guide them, it blinds them. It is one of the most satisfactory things in my life to watch the life pour back into someone who went through the camps when they finally understand the answer to that question. I remember one little old lady hanging on my arm with her eyes shining like a little girls.

Lets see, last week one lady said to a friend, you know, ever since the camp, I have never slept through a single night. But now I know God does love me, tonight? Tonight I will sleep.

Or the times I had two different Israeli men with long black beards and tears running down their cheeks shaking my hand and saying to me “Thank you for introducing me to My GOD”.

It was Elohim by the way they were talking about, I am not here to be a missionary guys. But you have no idea how enriched my life has been these long, trying 8 years. And now, because of the Obama vote, I think I may have to leave. As the economy tanks and the dollar shrinks to nothing, the jig is becoming very up. I am not allowed to work here and my “retirement” is about retired...

I feel like crying... But I will be coming home, to what is left of it. I sure wish you guys had taken better care of it. I tell you, I really miss America, and Americans. It will be good to be home, but frankly, I am reallly going to miss the Jews, at least the ones that love God.

Like they say, you do not come to Israel to change her, but to be changed. I will never be the same.

“78% of jews do not need to cry over Israel.”

Indeed.
So much for the cry of “Never Again!”

I sense that most Jews will march quietly off to the camps again, when the time comes. And it will - very soon.

OK GOOD!

I am just really shocked that the Jewish people voted this way!
