When you lose an election like we just did, it brings out the best those family, friends, and acquaintences of yours who don't share your political beliefs.
In 2004, I tried my best not to gloat at all because I understood that for many of our opponents, politics is their religion and to watch Kerry lose, it was like watching a family member die. I get no pleasure in being a jackass and trying to rub salt into people's wounds.
Liberals generally have no such reservations, so I'm sure we've all gotten an earful today.
So let's start a thread for posting some of the dumbest things people have said to us today at the advent of Obamanation. It might be the kind of thing we can look back on in 2010 or 2012 and say, "Oh yeah, I forgot what that little snot said."
One of my employees (salary under $30,000) said she doesn't expect Obama to keep his tax cut pledge and would be ok paying another $2,000 in taxes per year.
One other person declared that this campaign had nothing to do with race and was offended that anyone would make a suggestion that it was.
“Have a nice day”.
A homeless guy asked me for money today, I said, call Chicago, your new President will hand you some cash”
I posted on my Facebook account the fact that I was looking ahead to 2010. On of my lib contacts - one who has been critical of Bush since day 1, commented, “Apparently you didn’t listen closely to McCain’s concession speech.”
I wrote back - McCain has to be gracious. I have to look ahead.
Another one - “I finally feel like we have our country back.”
I teach at a high school in an affluent suburb of Atlanta. We had black students entering school this morning shouting “Black Power”! and “Obama Power” in the face of white students. We had to clamp down quickly or it could have become very ugly.
It appears you are over paying this employee. Tell them that that their 2,000 cut in pay will be used so you won’t have to lay off a fellow employee. or that you are cutting their pay by 2,000 to give it to a lower paid employee so you can help spread the wealth.
Family members imagining that I would want to chit chat about the election as if it wasn’t profoundly evil thing.
All the liberals at work think all their problems are now solved! lol Everyone else I know who didn't support Obama feels awful today.....

I couldn’t handle it - I called in sick because I feel sick.
Yeah, I’m afraid that the “culture” is going to get a bit wound up and some will take it as license to “get back at” whitey even though whitey has done nothing but give them our hard earned wealth.
I expect there will be quite a bit of that thinking going on. Totally expected.
This morning, there were thousands of liberal hippy college students still celebrating outside my apartment. One of the drugged up losers yelled out:
“OBAMA IS THE HOPE OF THE WORLD!”
Apparently he figured that Obama would rapture him all the way up to Marijuana.
I wrote back, that I'd be glad to pinch him but the FAT F**K WOULDN'T FEEL IT.
I sense that could become a national phenomena and not restricted to high schools.
It’s somber at work today. Nobody has brought up the election, which tells me they probably are Republicans who want to lose themselves in their work today.
I thankfully have not had to talk to any obamabot yet..I know it will come though. My middle schooler came home today and said that the black kids at school were gloating and acting cocky. I tried to explain that they have a lot to be proud of since the black community has had an ugly past in America and that I hope this heals some of those wounds for them. I explained that we don’t agree with his political policy at all, but that it is understandable that the black kids are happy. Inside I’m thinking that they need to realize that obama would not have one if it weren’t for white votes.
