An Escambia County couple died Saturday after an argument over the Alabama/LSU football game ended in shotgun blasts, according to Conecuh County authorities.

District Attorney Tommy Chapman identified the people killed as Dennis and Donna Smith of Appleton Road near Brewton.

The shooting allegedly occurred about 7 p.m. at the home of Michael Williams near the Owassa community in Conecuh County, Chapman said.

My Dad is an Auburn grad. I'm an Alabama grad.

We don't talk about football.

Maybe, but Bama WON this game. So where’s the beef?

The victims were LSU fans. Dunno how the situation devolved, but the shooter was a Bama fan.

It’s healthy to know where your limits are. Especially when it comes to the Iron Bowl.

Yeah, that's what I don't understand. What did he have to get angry about?

Guess it's a combination of alcohol and ass-holery. But, as I read it, the LSU fan pulled the first gun.

Jesus, it's just a game. I'm a Bama fan, myself, but to shoot someone for that! It makes me ashamed.

I am a Bama fan and am not ashamed in the least. Every team’s fanbase has a few whackjobs. However, the media will characterize all Bama fans as like this to slam a team from a hardcore Red State at each and every opportunity.

Unless you pulled the trigger, no Bama fan should be ashamed or guilty of anything. Idiotic Liberal White guilt is what got us Obama.

Gee, only took 33 posts to get to the core of the matter.

I would love to know how the DA is getting two murder charges out of this.

I think he has his work cut for him to convince a jury of murder from what sounds like a pair of justifiable homicides.

Don’t get me wrong. I don’t feel personally responsible for the nutjob. And I don’t feel ashamed for myself. I feel ashamed for him. Not my repsonsibility to, I know. But there it is.

Where did he go so wrong in raising you?

DA must be an Auburn fan.

Roll Tide!

Stupid people do stupid things. In this case, there were a bunch of stupid people involved. And booze. So the LSU couple is inebriated and drives over to the Bama guy’s house.

We watched the game in AZ with fellow Bama fans. Not a person in the room voted for Obama. So don’t blame Bama for O-bama!!!!!!!!!!!

Than you armyofVERYLITTLEprinciples. Two people died and we get comments like two new voters were added to the Dem voter rolls. Like I said before. Sounds like the types of comments those fools at the Daily Kos typically post.

You got that right. Bama is a dark red state. I can’t say the same for the idiots up here in Ohio.

My wife said we may see history made tonight. It’ll be the first game in history where an Alabama player is shanked on the field.
