IMHO, it is as if a great spiritual ship is moving through the deep waters of humanity forcing people to decide, to separate either to the right or the left, to good or to evil, to God or to self will run awry.

The more we sense Christ's return, the stronger the separation, the impossibility of not choosing. And though we may grieve for those who chose poorly, we must realize that the separation is also God's will:

And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.

He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.

And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward [is] with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. - Revelation 22:10-13

Truly, all Christians - and particularly those who speak as religious leaders - must testify of Christ, His Name, the will of God without compromise. The time of separation is at hand.
