Seconded. I will not disrespect those whose memories the flag has been lowered for in such a way.

I’m a veteran who gave the best years of my youth defending that flag. If respecting it to much to use it for some DU-esque protest is what makes a RINO in your eyes, you’ve lost your cottonpicking mind.
If you want to sit by and let the Marxists use our flag, more power to you. I want people to see dissent. And there's no shame in that.
Maybe we can just hang a pair of boxing gloves near it or off the pole. I don’t want to whine about being in distress, I want to FIGHT!
What would all you folks who are gung ho to do this say to a gold star mother who saw your flag at half mast because of a lost election? One lives over in the next town from me...not only were flags lowered around here for her son, but Gov. Ahnuld lowered the flags on the state house in Sacramento because the boy was stationed at Pendleton before he was deployed. What would you say to her? Oh, I know you have some answer about how bad Obama is, or how you might even say that you’re engaging in this protest because he wants to make her son’s death worthless...but really, do you think if you were in her place that would make any damn sense? Or would you just feel like someone gave you the finger?
That flag deserves to be respected, not used in the same way the neo-hippie “Bushitler-all-our-troops-are-terrorists” freaks have been using it the last eight years.
Nufsed, ozarkhillljilly and tsowellfan have all made excellent suggestions. Let’s concentrate on constructive stuff that shows respect for our nation.
Well then, why don’t we just burn the flag like ANSWER freaks? Or make up a new version with acorns instead of stars the way they carry around flags with corporate logos where the stars should be. Or we could all hold a protest where we crap on the street and wipe our butts with a picture of Obama.
Grow up. If you think screwing with the flag is the only way to show dissent from this administration, you need to step away from the computer and get a life.

Comparing these proposed actions to flag desecration is just plain wrong.

Sorry, haole, but I can’t do that to our flag. What I can do, and would encourage others to do, is starting today everyone put a sign in their yard, their car, their businesses that says, “NO BIRTH CERTIFICATE, NO OBAMA”.
Do NOT use my American Flag for some stupid political stunt! Cripes you are as bad as the DUmmies.

That would be a defeatist move, IMO, because I don't see my country as "dead."
Personally, I don't intend to be defeated by the Obama administration.
My flag will continue to fly high in defiance of any attempt at forcing Marxism on my great nation.
I’ll probably remove my flag for 1 day only. I might drive to Canada on Jan 20 and spend the day there in protest. I’m also planning on boycotting products made in any state that voted for Obama by more than 20% (CA, NY, IL, etc). Yes this means buying Chinese instead if I have to.
