You could still fly the flag and still make your point by silk-screening this flag onto a new banner:
Obama is the President elect. Act like an adult and be part of the loyal not submissive opposition.
The MSM usually does a masterful job of burying the RTL March -- putting on page 67 a photo and caption of half a million people, whereas a dozen NOW protesters get front-page coverage. But TEN million people descending on DC for the day is something the MSM would not be able to ignore.
Some info about 2009's march here: http://www.marchforlife.org/images/stories/docs/mfl%202009%20notesflyer.pdf
I don’t know about Grassfire. I already get e-mail from them and it seems that they are more interested in the money they can raise than the causes they represent.
There now. I think you have hit on the solution. Let’s all fly a Kenyan flag (if Kenya has one). Where could we get those?
Grow up.
get involved in local politics. Run for office. Educate others.
Stamping around and waving flags and signs is for 60s retreads.
Hey - get a dictionary and look up “hyperbole.”
Then maybe you can sit at the grown-up table if you learn anything.
The men and women who fought under that flag swore an oath to uphold the Constitutuion. Obama was elected according to the will of the people as proscribed by the Constitution. You can’t manipulate the flag because you didn’t get your way.
What are you protesting on Jan 20? He hasn’t done anything yet? If you are pissed about what he has planned to do then that is what the election is for and we lost. Protest without a cause is a tantrum and you should keep our flag out of it.
Please don’t ANYONE mess around with our flag. That’s completely disrespectful.
You want CHANGE? Get your @sses out there and find local conservatives to run for local office from Dog Catcher on up.
Quit whining. Get busy. Yeesh!
“My flag will continue to fly high in defiance of any attempt at forcing Marxism on my great nation.”
Exactly. Fly it high and prepare to defend the flag against anyone who wants to bring it down and burn it.
The day after the election, I was torn. My knee jerk reaction was to hoist the flag upside down. But instead, I kept her inside and just flew the SACO flag-the What the Hell pennant.
I figured that was comment enough.
By the day after that and since, I went ahead and hoisted our flag to the top,(flying correctly) but now every time I do I’m filled with a mix of sadness, anger and indignation and yet still, pride, once the breeze catches her. Let’s face it-there ain’t a prettier flag out there!
This is MY country, and the loons have taken over in a bloodless coup. That flag represents all that is/was good in this country to me. Now I fly it to spite them! Every morning when I hoist it now it reminds me of where I’m at, where I’m from and they will never take that away and it just makes me want to fight even harder to keep this country from going down any further.
But what do I know? I’m just one of those bitter clingers out here in the sticks.
I will not remain silent.
We all gotta do our part-whatever that may be, as we are led. Good on you! I’m glad you have the resources to do so.
I live in southern NJ and a group of our parishes are taking buses down to DC for the day.
The cost is minimal, (much cheaper than the train) and we are brown bagging lunch and dinner on our own.
Their people are going to be there in large numbers.
We may just encounter what the American people are in store for.
Nope...our local churches (very few and scattered...we are Rural with a capital R!) have made no mention of the event.
But I’ll ask my pastor this morning.
Well I have to head out to church myself.
Talk with ya later.
