This week, President Bush is meeting for a first meeting in a world economic summit. For those of us who follow Scripture, it will not be a surprise if a one world economy comes out of this as a solution. The world seems to be clamoring for it. They will trade everything, even their freedom, for material wealth.
President Bush was said to have been going there to stand up for the capitalistic way of life. He is going against other governments that would impose socialism on this land and others - with the government in charge of our finances and ultimately our lives. Help him to stand firm. Do not let him be swayed by evil ideology. Rather, let him be a force for good.
Lord, I pray for our judges. May they forever hold our constitution dear and protect it as appointed guardians of the law. May our freedom to speak never be infringed upon. And, until You come, may there still be a recourse to the courts in this land.
I pray for the people of America who are quite blinded from truth at the moment. Some are blind willfully. Some are blind just by omission of the press reporting on things. Let them all see clearly what is going on that they may have opportunity to deal with the eventualities our nation has to face.
Go with us the rest of today. Be with us throughout the evening. For it is in the blessed name of Christ Jesus my Lord that I pray these things. Amen.
Ping for prayer
Amen, Blogger.
St. Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle
Be our protection against the wickedness
and snares of the devil;
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host,
by the power of God,
Thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits
who wander through the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen

As Jacob did in Genesis 28, I like to remind myself each morning when I awaken that God is here, in this place, present with me (v.16). As I spend time with Him each morning, reading His Word and responding in prayer, it reinforces my sense of His presencethat He is near. Although we do not see Him, Peter reminds us that we can love Him and rejoice in His love for us with inexpressible, glorious joy (1 Peter 1:8).
We take the Lords presence with us all through the day, blending work and play with prayer. He is our teacher, our philosopher, our companionour gentle, kind, and very best friend.
God is with us wherever we go. He is in the commonplace, whether we know it or not. Surely the Lord is in this place, Jacob said of a most unlikely spot, and I did not know it (Gen. 28:16). We may not realize He is close by. We may feel lonely and sad. Our day may seem bleak and dreary without a visible ray of hopeyet He is present.
Amid all the clamor and din of this visible and audible world, listen carefully for Gods quiet voice. Listen to Him in the Bible. Talk to Him frequently in prayer. Look for Him in your circumstances. Seek Him. He is with you wherever you go!
“By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.” (Psalm 33:6)
“Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people
whom He hath chosen for His own inheritance.” (Psalm 33:12)
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1)
Amen.
I join in prayer for President Bush, the Administration and our heroes standing in harm’s way!
'How Great is the Lord.' (Ps.48:1)
