Supremes to review citizenship arguments-Case challenging candidacy set for 'conference' of justices

A case that challenges President-elect Barack Obama's name on the 2008 election ballot citing questions over his citizenship has been scheduled for a "conference" at the U.S. Supreme Court.

Conferences are private meetings of the justices at which they review cases and decide which ones to accept for formal review.

This case is set for a conference Dec. 5, just 10 days before the Electoral College is scheduled to meet to make formal the election of Obama as the nation's next president.

The Supreme Court's website listed the date for the case brought by Leo C. Donofrio against Nina Wells, the secretary of state in New Jersey, over not only Obama's name on the 2008 election ballot but those of two others, Sen. John McCain and Roger Calero.

Including Roger Calero in this case makes a lot of sense. How the heck did the Secretary of State allow a foreign born candidate on the ballot? His ineligibility as a presidential candidate is not in question. he also appeared on several other state ballots.

Hola NJ! Have You Ever Met Presidential Candidate Roger Calero? . Calero is an admitted foreign born Nicaraguan, and is the Socialist Workers Party candidate for president. The SoS didn't care that an admittedly unqualified candidate was placed on the ballot. It calls into question the whole process of placing qualified presidential candiates on ballots.

“What if they won’t take it up, because the Constitution is clear and there is no “constitutional question?” And if he can’t prove he’s natural born, maybe they don’t want to put their power to the test. If they say he may not be POTUS, how are they going to enforce their ruling? And if they can’t, do they want THAT precedent?”

The Constitution is clear that the president must be a natural born American. All they need do is ask to see his full birth certificate. Surely that’s not asking too much? If it says he was born in Kenya then its clear as crystal that he’s NOT natural born.

The fact that this matter is going to “conference” dooms it.

All of this is the fault of the barry-backside kissing MSM.

If they had done their jobs (instead of trying to find dirt on Palin) we never would have been in this mess.

The Supreme Court (probably any court) has the right to ask the FBI/CIA etc. for any information relevant information they may have. With his associations, he is just the sort of person who would be on their radar.

They're NOT ideologically neutral. They're over run with liberals, too. Even if ordered, they'll figure out a way to redact the evidence, or release it in a way that is mis-leading or inconclusive.

Even if Jesus returned with THE original copy of the COLB proving that he was born in Kenya, 0bama is going to be our next President. Don't believe that he won't.

All the SCOTUS has to do is rule that all the candidates produce their vault Birth record. If it proves that Obama is a citizen then that is that. If it proves he is not a citizen then a crime against the USA will have been commited ... and it will be Obamas fault not the SCOTUS.

Well, obviously for 0bama it’s a lot better to say there IS no original bc to be found (the dog ate it), than to hand in one that says he’s Kenyan-born.
I’m saying SCOTUS does not want to be in the position to say he can’t be POTUS. And there are plenty of ways for them to wiggle out.
They do not want to issue a ruling that effectively throws out a decisive popular vote, and brings wrath, challenges, and questions of relevance, scope of powers, and legitimacy on them.
And while that sounds crazy to us, it wouldn’t be to millions of moonbats.

“The dog age it” is not much of an excuse when, in most states, you can get a certified copy for around $10. And, apparently, he has already spent something like $800,000 to avoid having to produce it.

The SC will simply choose not to hear the case, probably without comment.

It’s not that simple. You can’t just overlook or ignore a SCOTUS decision and the next day the sun rises over America as usual. Nothing would ever be the same here again.

There’s no “crime” here, just possible grounds for disqualification.

What if they don’t take the case and down the road we find out he WAS born in Kenya? Talk about a nightmare. The Supreme Court would lose ALL credibility. It is their job to make sure the Constitution in followed, do you think they want the biggest fraud ever perpetrated on this country in their lap?

In this day and age, NOTHING stays secret. Any person who could come up with any documentation to show he was not a citizen or ineligible would more than get their 15 minutes of fame, they’d be in history books.

Those will get widespread notice.

Widespread notice? Other than World Net Daily has this issue,
to any degree, seen the light of day in the liberal MSM?
I didn't think so ...

The Congress wouldn't ignore such a ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court. If they did, there would be another revolution.

This story and these questions aren’t going away. Even if the USSC dodges this bullet, there will still be the question of Obama’s legitimacy looming. Do you really think that half of the country will just sit back while a possible foreigner runs/ruins the country? I’ve been predicting another civil war for years now. I was, however, kinda hoping that we conservatives would be the ones “in power” when it happened. Looks like that will not be the case.

Our side doesn't "revolt", the other side does. That's the whole point here.

I guess the fraudulent collecting of 650 million dollars in campaign funds would not be a crime? Or the fact that his Democrat Primary win and subsequent Presidential victory denied Americans of a fair choice is not a crime?
