Four major banks, including one that collapsed, two that received federal bailout money and one that filed for bankruptcy this past September, paid former President Clinton $2.1 million for 13 speeches he delivered on their behalf between 2004-2007, according to Senate financial disclosure statements filed by Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.).
Citigroup paid Bill Clinton $700,000; Goldman Sachs paid $550,000; Lehman Brothers paid $300,000 and Merrill Lynch paid $175,000 to the former president for speeches during that time period. Sen. Clintons 2008 financial disclosure reports are not yet available.
Though some of the investment banks were able to entertain the former president more than once, each was eventually affected by the credit crunch.

how exactly does having bubba make a speech.. help the banks become more profitable..
How do you think they qualify for the “bail out”?
Would someone please tell me what this clown would ever have to say about anything much less running a bank that would be worth a dime???
No wonder these banks went bust if this is how they invested!
Boy, these banks aren’t stupid, are they? How would they have had information that their “investment” in Bill would pay off, given that Obama (about whom Bill said, “He can kiss my a**!”) was going to be elected????? The suckers are us!
Apparently, they took his advice.
Well, we see that those "speeches" were not about running a bank at all. Just "window dressing" to build the kind of public image that they (the banks) were trying to foster.
It wouldn't matter what der Schlickmeister was talking about, because they weren't listening anyway. More like fantisizing about what was behind his zipper. (sorry for the barf note)
How immoral can they get?
BHO got $440,000 election donation from Lehman Bros right before they went down, and he did not have to give a speech.

This is worse than the AIG spa thing. There, they were doing business, here, Bubba is committing extortion. I am sure he said nothing that was important or useful.
Sure would like to be in a poker game with those chumps .
Roflmto...you could win big.
With the likes of Bill Clinton, I'm guessing they want to be seen as being connected to the power brokers of the world.
If I was a shareholder of a company that hired Bill Clinton, I would sell my stake in that company.
I just thought of another image goal that they may have had in mind:
That of a loser in trouble.
Yep, that's the image they were trying to convey.
Well, it just doesn’t make any sense to me and like you,
“if” I were a shareholder in ANY of these companies that invites this clown to speak, I’d dump the stock quicker than you can say “sell!”
I have absolutely NO RESPECT for the three-time draft-dodger...somebody had to go into the military in his place and I’d sooner invite a Viet Nam combat veteran to speak than Clinton ANY day!
Semper Fi,
Kelly
See, I've been watching for this kind of thing for years, but Mrs. Designer thinks I'm extremely paranoid and intolerant.
Whatever
I think it is very important to watch who does what.
I quit paying money to see (most) Hollywood films, I don't buy crappy "music", I don't help support the socialist, if I can help it, and I do try to support conservatives.
Seems almost futile some days.
Semper Fi
“Seems almost futile some days?”
Nothing is “futile” in God’s eyes...and He sees everything that’s been going on down here!
