Bush Throws Some Pardons: What About The Border Agents?
Stop the ACLU ^ | 25 Nov 08 | William Teach

President Bush, who apparently uses the same pen for veto’s and pardons, has given out 14 and commuted the sentences of 2 others. All were pretty much low level scumbags who pretty much hurt no one but themselves, but what about the border agents?

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-Calif., noted that the list also did not include former Border Patrol Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean, who were convicted of shooting a drug smuggler and trying to cover it up. Ramos and Compean are each serving sentences of more than 10 years for shooting Osvaldo Aldrete Davila in the buttocks while he was fleeing from an abandoned marijuana load in 2005.

“President Bush still has time to do the right thing and commute wrongly imprisoned Border Agents Ramos and Compean,” Rohrabacher said. “The fact that the president has neglected to free these men from their imprisonment while freeing drug dealers, embezzlers and other criminals is insulting to the American people who have been begging and pleading for the president to release the agents.”

I don’t think he’s going to pardon them. I think he is firmly on “the other side” on that issue.

He signed the pardons, but someone removed them from the scene.

President Bush is on the wrong side of the fence on this issue. I don’t believe the pardon will happen. Hope I’m wrong.

I was really shocked he didnt pardon these men. I guess it was more important to pardon druggies and rappers. But men who serve their country must be kept behind bars.

This just convinces me more that we were duped by W. He’s a bigger rino than his dad.

The article says “commute”. I favor a full pardon, reinstatement and back pay. And a taxpayer funded week at Disneyland for their kids. Geeze. What a joke.

I favor a full pardon also, but I don’t think GWB is even going to COMMUTE their sentences. As I said, I think he his firmly on “the other side” on this one.

duped? I think not. it was a choice between W and Algore, then W and John F’in Kerry. or no choice at all.

I knew I was voting for a RINO when I held my nose, twice and voted for him.

It’s very unlikely that our pro-illegal alien president will pardon the border agents. If it were on InTrade, the price would be about 5.0 (i.e., 5% likely).

The trick to serving ones country, is to do it honorably. They are just crooked cops.

I have to be careful here. A couple months ago I got one day suspension for a remark I made on a thread about this issue.

You finally figured that out?

When Bush signed “No Student Left Behind” with Teddy Kennedy smiling beside him, I knew that Bush had no principles.

The reason GWB won’t pardon the former agents is that GWB is in the pocket of the prosecutor, Mr. Sutton.
